Once racing is finished we give the birds a final bath, all birds are seperated from sexs. In The drinker they get a teaspoon of cayne pepper to a pint of hot water, when this cools gets put into the shed,They get this most days in the drinker when this aint in the drinker nettle tea and garlic is in there. They are fed on a moulting mix, with garlic juice mixed in,To this is added red band and lineseed.

same here ace lofts

seperate cocks and hens keep them in give them a bath once a week nothing in the water no lights on

always got through the moult perfectly ok

i think its how far and for how long into the season you race your youngsters

if you race them well into september especially when paired up  then you may have a job getting them through on the above method

FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER HEARD OF ANYBODY GIVING THEIR BIRDS PEPPER WHAT DOES THIS DO FOR THEM EXCEPT CLEAR THEIR NOSTRILS WHEN THEY SNEEZE

i use peppers as well ,, the sunday peppers the daily peppers , but put them on the floors of nest boxes ;D ;D ;D ;D just joking wiley, but see your point i prefer if poss to get them out every day , enough time to clean the loft [not on horrible damp days]as many baths as poss , as this induces the moult in itself, a higher protein diet, with a handfull of red band

7 days buttermilk in the water.   Nothing - but nothing can beat it

PUT 2 TABLESPOONS TO A 4 PINT DRINKER FOR A WEEK, BUY IT AT TESCOS NEXT TO THE MILK.

Same as Ace. I put garlic in the water, and at least one bath a week. I have never had problems getting my darkness birds through the moult.

well i had some youngens on the widowhood so u can imagine they only droped 1-2 flights in september after last race i think it was 9th,

well now u look at them they have 3-4 to go, they were throwing 2-3 flights out at a time.

just good food and fresh grit + plenty of hot baths.
