HI I DONT THINK IT WILL BE GOOD HAVING ETS

Posted

We have had this subject a few times and i said the same before,I would love ets.It would be great to not have to chase birds around after they have just flown whatever miles. How many times do we spoil birds by grabbing them after a race.

ETS would greatly help people with a disabilty or people who cant be there to clock the birds

my opinion is yes

personnaly i wouldnt agree with it just my own opinion that it would take the fun out of the sport for me,and also reading in the RP this week under woodos column i am lead to believe the pigeon doesnt have to land on the pad it can be a distance away from the pad and still be clocked in!i like the idea of getting my birds in and taking the rubber of the bird winner or loser when a bird has flown over 10 hours on the wing and done this its a marvellous feeling, not just 10 hours for me im like it on the sprints aswell, every thurso race if i dont recieve no birds on the day i camp outside in my backgarden unless it is pissing down then i sleep on in my patio doors just to wake up at the crack of dawn to hopefully see a pigeon there for me to clock it in,if there was ets there would be no reason for me to do this sorta thing and for me it will just take out the fun and keeness out of racing

Just because you have ETS it doesn't mean you can't have the same thrill of seeing your birds come in.

I've used it for 7 seasons now and I have never once not been at the loft for the Birds return, including being there at the crack of dawn, pacing and looking skywards on long races.  The weather was really cold and windy for our first old bird race this year, but Steve and I were sat out in front of the loft as usual, wrapped in duvets and sleeping bags.

Agree with shadow been done to death and nothing i have read has changed my mind except to say i see certain people are against it but it dont stop them entering one loft races that use it talk about double standards

Just acouple of points i would like to put to you wiley the bird deffinatly as to land on the pad or pass over it and how do you think the pigeon feels after flying for ten hours which system do you think he would have, just passing over a pad or perhaps being chaced around the loft and the rubber ripped off its leg.

just like to say thanks to those that replied to my message folks, there was some interesting points, the ets is defaintly a political debating in the pigeon games and there will always be fors and against, and its good that memebers of this forum can talk about and place there points across without thinks going out of hand  :)

IF ITS PASSED IN RPRA AREAS AND YOU CAN  AFFORD IT AND WANT IT  THEN BUY IT   IF YOU CANT/DONT  THEN DONT   END OF :-/

EVERY DOO MAN/WOMAN OUT THERE MUST REALISE THAT DOO RACING IS THE MOST UNFAIR SPORT GOING   :o   THATS WHY WE LOVE IT SO MUCH   :)

Folks

Its coming no doubt about it just look at the amount of adverts for it in the press now, you cant tell me they dont know something, how many adverts for it this time last year. Lets go with it, if it forces people to pack in they cant be that bothered about racing their birds that much. i would still race using an old toulet if it meant racing against not racing, for me is the frill of seeing my birds arrive home be first or last its a pity there are not more with this attitude. For me that is what pigeon flying is all about the anticipation of your arrivals from whatever direction, ETS would not stop the adrenaline rush, and you have to still get it to trap asap. Whats the point in having ets if the bird will not trap and their is no encouragement from the owner. ETS will just help for those occassions when you cant be there.

Im only 33 and have a young family and if you are to encourage younger fanciers into the sport this is ideal as pigeon racing is a time consuming hobby and leads to many rows in the household come racing day.

in my opinion this would make my home life much better.

I'd also like to see a 'Vote' on whether people believe it will cost a lot or not! Whether they realise that the bands cost a lot, and whether they could A. afford it now, or would have to wait till second and ones became available.

As a club secretary i have been speaking a lot to the ets reps, these last few weeks to find out as much as i can about the system, here are a few prices of the equipment at the moment, for a system at your loft which would give you the means to fly up to 5 races at the same time would cost £449.00 the eqipment needed for the club is given FREE,the ets rings which are extra are at the moment £1.20 each, these if you wanted could be used for your youngbirds after old bird racing is finished, obviously if you reqire extra cables at your loft or extra pads these would cost more.
