Kevin Cambridgeshire i knew gearge dawes well, and know he spared no cash to purchase the best and closest kirkpatricks to the original lines,, in fact, if i remember well, he was the only man in the uk to have the last living g/son from "solway king" ,,,,,he purchased many a" kirkpatrick"direct from national winners
OLDYELLOW Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 i have a few of my Kirkpatricks on my photobucket there good honest pigeons and win the harder it gets the more they come
hotrod Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 its actually kirkpatrick (john) , kilpatrick does grit and minerals for pigeons

chris h Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 im Crossing mine with Van Braunes And Tournier the Van Braunes are similar in type to the Jan Ardens oops forgot about the Leo Lukkasen cock that flew Blois 400+ miles so patrick aardens would make good pigeons
OLDYELLOW Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 so patrick aardens would make good pigeons id recon would help both breeds blend stamina into endurance
OLDYELLOW Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 This hen goes back to Lovels Kings Cup Winner Hermes , shes paired up to a chequer Kirkpatrick his nest mate was a grizzle
Guest cloudview Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 am crossing kirkpatricks with roland jansens any reasons that a dont geoff kirkland told me , crossing sprint with distance does,nt work you get neither one or the other , makes sense really long distance on to a middle distance is a good bet , then pair back to the originals
OLDYELLOW Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 geoff kirkland told me , crossing sprint with distance does,nt work you get neither one or the other , makes sense really long distance on to a middle distance is a good bet , then pair back to the originals i was told similar it's like crossing a yacht with a battleship no good putting a heavy engine in a yacht nor sales on a battleship
hotrod Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 i think with all this crossing distance birds and sprinters is the reason why there is an( occasional) sprinter that scores from the distance , and why there is so much watered down crap out there for sale , so called distance birds for sale that could'nt fly round the block never mind 500/600 miles, STOP ALL THIS CRAP NOW, or you will have a loft full of $hit .
Guest cloudview Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 could never understand why louella crossed aardens with that brasspenning strain two opposites if i ever saw one
