Guest SPORTKA Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 My west of england dropper decided to pair up with one of my racers, out of interest I let one egg hatch out and they have produced a good looking little yb, it has the colouring of the westie but looks more the build of a racer, I put a ring on it just in case it might race, what are your thoughts, is it poss, has it been tried and if so with any success, before anyone sugest s no I cant bin it as here indoors has picked it as a favorite already, so if it cant race its got the job of droper for the 2009 season lol.
REDCHEQHEN Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 I think you might have got yourself another dropper - there are references to crosses on the forum - and I think they home from short training tosses - but don't 'race' If your other half has taken a shine to the youngster - I wouldn't even think about racing it (evil) Be it on your head !!

cowman Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 just remember early pigeon racing was done with tumblers rollers fantails ect so why not go for it.
p charlton Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 when i was a about 15 i had to remove my loft because the gardens were i lived were getting a make over. i had a couple of tumblers a old racer hen returned home they breed to red pieds i put rings on them and gave to a mate who lived next door to a club mate. my mate gave up after a couple of weeks the club mate got hold of the pigeon and asked me to sign it over the club mate raced this bird for 5 years it even had cards over the water.
