jons_pigeons Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 ETS = PROBLEMS I have found that whatever system is being used people will always run into problems because they don't have a clue. At marking people haven't deleted previous races and also pigeons that haven't been assigned. We need to stop these stupid arguments about which is best and make sure what ever system you buy that you have read the manual. One of my local clubs is split down the middle and yet these same fanciers never argued about which was best out of a stb and t3. Bring Back The Toulet!!!!! LOL......
greenlands Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Just a simple question, how many fanciers would have an ETS if they had to pay for them themselves,ie.no grant etc.I would love one but my back pocket won't allow it.Lindsay
Guest gladdo Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 our club cabra is if you want a system you have to pay for it yourself ... there s no help and i think its dreadful esp for a new lad thats just joined and his fees to now is 490 euro and then if he gets ets it will add up grand ... what a joke ...no future for youngsters at all now id say .....

Roland Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Have bought Unikon. Why, well be around asking for 12 years or so, Tipes bricon Tareus etc. etc. But seems in the main Unikon is most user friendly. Had some correspondence with a fellow on here that deals with the three main ones every week club wise. Marginally went for Unikon as being best User Wise. So have bought the Champ 500 with pocket clock etc. etc. and 50 rings, £513 including VAT. Will of course only use it in one, maybe later two clubs. The others are not using in the main ET's... likewise the National marking stations. Seems no one want to learn it on the comittee, so never mind lol. Only using it in the other club, as they are all on it - unikon - and I already give them 12 to the East. So enoughs enough I guess. Other club has 50% members on ET's... Bricon, so may use it there when a few others get them ...

Not true he can use a conventional clock, as every member in our club has.... though we are hoping to get a grant as are hundreds of others I'm sure. You would not blink an eyelid if this new starter is competing with cast offs against club members who have paid thousands for pigeons, so why should ets be any different. It ain't a fair world and pigeon racing epitomises this it is one of the most discrimatory sports I know of.
Guest Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 ETS = PROBLEMS Bring Back The Toulet!!!!! LOL...... Jon I'm still using mine
Guest Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 as i keep saying i am going on feed back from people all over the wourld and what i think myself i have being at 4 diferent e.t.s demonstrations and uinkorn came out on top for being the easy one to work with for club and racer hope this helps you all as i am not an expert and e.t.s systems but i have being working with electronics for the past 13 years and no a thing or two about them That doesn't explain why, I welcome your opinion but not a statement that seems to suggest that Unikon is the best .. Fact!!From your position of electronics expertise what are the good features that make unikon better, from your conversations why is it better. The 4 demos were they all Unikon?? I can certainly see it would be better for you if you can go to Unikon and ask them for a discount because 20 people off here have signed up with you to try and get.
jack Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 bring back runing to the pole at the end of your road with the pigeon in your hand lol
Guest Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 bring back runing to the pole at the end of your road with the pigeon in your hand lol Would that be an electronic pole?

ESD can also occur when a high electrostatic field develops between two objects in close proximity. ESD is one of the major causes of device failures in the semiconductor industry. Electrostatic charge build-up occurs as a result of an imbalance of electrons on the surface of a material. Such a charge build-up develops an electric field that has measurable effects on other objects at a distance. The process of electron transfer as a result of two objects coming into contact with each other and then separating is known as 'triboelectric charging'. This charging process results in one object gaining electrons on its surface, and therefore becoming negatively charged, and another object losing electrons from its surface, and therefore becoming positively charged. A person can get triboelectrically charged in a number of ways, even by just walking across a room. The tendencies of various materials to charge up either positively or negatively are shown in a Triboelectric Series.

Not sure the point, I assume that the Unikon has better connectivity then, or perhaps the Bricon does not follow normal protocols?
jack Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 the point is pal i no alot about the inside of systems e.t.s is like cars they will get you to a to b but what one will get you there without problems hope this answers your point pal
PIGEON_MAN Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 best system and most reliable on market and best value for money all in one ... just name what system you vote in favour off ..... People are just going to vote for the system they have or in a lot of cases what the club have purchased, why not ask the secretaries or whoever does all the computer work which they think is best thats if they have more than one system, they are the ones you should ask advice from when thinking about what to buy as it is they who have to set everthing up so that you can use it.
Guest Paulo Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 We should all run to the post office again it will be mint
stephen steyert Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 unikon for me , i am no longer a member of the club i was president of i resigned at this years agm , but enough about that i assigned and administered the clubs ETS unikon, bricon & tipes , the most user friendly ETS i think ( just my opinion ) is unikon , and before anyone jumps down my throat i was using a tipes ETS at the time but still feel unikon is the more user friendly ETS People are just going to vote for the system they have or in a lot of cases what the club have purchased, why not ask the secretaries or whoever does all the computer work which they think is best thats if they have more than one system, they are the ones you should ask advice from when thinking about what to buy as it is they who have to set everthing up so that you can use it.
jons_pigeons Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Why are fanciers promoting certain systems, your not on their payroll. I have ETS but i'm not go to say any of them are the best, i don't want to make them anymore money. Its all way over priced, just look at the price of backup batterys (Ridiculous prices when compared to a car battery). What an appropriate name "dick".

YOUR dues seem very high .490euro's thats about£400 plus/year wow that a lot.
