blaz Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 how many members on hear would be willing to encourage their club fed to have a combine race from maidstone if almoundvally fed and midlothian fed suggested it. i am looking for members of feds between the east coast Edinburgh through to the west coast Glasgow side .so as we are all flying nearly the same distance. as a race like this would be good for yearlings i think . it might also help with returns .

blaz Posted December 31, 2009 Author Report Posted December 31, 2009 my fed voted not to go with the national .they had a bad race from eastbourne only about 16% of birds home on the shift . alot of them saying they were not wanting their birds dragged all round the country . i voted to go with national as i will not be sending many birds if any if they go to the coast on their own .
Taylorsloft Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 if most freds are going with the snfc will could still have a combine race we would just submit our results to who ever wants to do them
Guest IB Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 I think the Scottish Central Combine meeting is in January. SCC was West Lothian, Central, North West & Midland Feds. West Lothian is now defunct; but I know North West Fed are going to Maidstone again in 2010, Central & North West usually joint convoy at that distance, so one SCC race is likely to be from there, and the other may be a yearling Derby from Ypres.. So in my opinion there's plenty of scope for a good Combine into the Central Belt, remembering too there was? a West Coast Combine which included Feds further West like Lanarkshire, so there is lots of scope for a Central Scotland Combine too.
aye ready Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 ian i think the channel race will be from ypres with an approach to the snfc for convoying that will bring the date of the scc forward so hopefully members will have a few more birds to send rather than at the end of the programme when most folk have gave up and are concentrating on their young birds the yearling derby will be from leicester we have two of them in our programme details will follow when theres been a combine meeting

tyson Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 gary what you are forgetting to tell members is if we are still going with almond valley is birds will be marked on a wednesday and weather permiting lib on the friday that way it was hoped to get better returns
Novice Posted December 31, 2009 Report Posted December 31, 2009 sounds good to me. Would all birds be in the same transporter as I feel that, if birds which are held at a race point in different conditions, then we do not experience true racing.
