DOVEScot Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Came up on another thread, has anyone else used this http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/permanganate+of+potash As an oxidant, potassium permanganate can act as a disinfectant. For example, dilute solutions are used as a treatment for canker sores (ulcers) (0.25%), disinfectant for the hands (about 1%) and treatment for mild pompholyx dermatitis or fungal infections of the hands or feet. It may also be directly applied (in minute amounts) in pure form to a small inflamed and infected cut or extreme acne, "burning" it off. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
ChrisMaidment08 Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 you can bath in it for scabys turns water blue
Guest bigda Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 they use it during the Crimean war, poured it on when cutting of :o :'( arms and legs
Novice Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 Before we had the expensive suplements available I knew a leading fancier who used this twice weekly. He said the only problem with it was "it's not expensive enough for most fanciers" Yes it is oxidising by nature and will also supply Potassium and Manganese in trace quantities. I have also been told that many years ago it was used by prostitutes as a disinfectant.
PIGEON_MAN Posted October 15, 2008 Report Posted October 15, 2008 If you go fishing pour some on the ground and the worms will rise to the top saves digging for them.
