Guest strapper Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 a few years a go i saw a tapeworm hanging from a mealy i had...i treated all birds,i understand that slugs/snail can carry the eggs into the loft as well as birds picking around the garden. this was the 1st time i knew pigeons could have tapeworm.
Guest asha Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Would anyone know if the invermictin we put on back of birds neck,or on tounge controls tapeworm?its the more conc one our mate uses for his cows.

REDCHEQHEN Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Ivermectin does not treat tapeworm praziquantel is the usual treatment for tapeworms
Skull Lofts Posted May 18, 2009 Author Report Posted May 18, 2009 Hi all Before deworming my birds, they actually came verry well from the combined tosses we had over the week-ends before our races start. My question to you all : Will they improve on theire times after the deworming or not? Any comments would be appreciated! :-/ Skull

ch pied Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 is it true ivermectin has an adverse effect on hawks? ;-)yes pete it will have an effect , if you can pour enough down its throat lol , but at the rate's that we worm pigeon's it will only aid to a better constituiton for the hawk , pancure can kill BOP as some of the falcon boy's have found when worming their bird's , it opens a back door for any latent infections that a BOP may have , in healthy BOP no prob's
