try this

Give 1 ml. (15 drops) Piperazine-17 for each 6 pounds of body weight. Dose the dog and cat individually or give in milk, water or food. Repeat treatment in 30 days or when necessary.

hope this helps. :)

Used it many times on the dogs but I think it would be too risky trying to get the dosage right for the birds, safer to get one specifically for pigeons

Throw it into the bin. It is an old fashioned chicken wormer and it is only effective for round worms. It was used widely after the last war and has been superceded by much better medicines these days. Moxidectine is generally accepted to be the best these days. But even that does not automatically kill the hair worm on the first dose. It sometimes needs up to three doses to achieve a complete kill.

I always use ascapilla+ by chevita.

its a Broad spectrum anthelmintic for pigeons

Capsules assure an exact dosing of the active substance Fenbendazole

For deworming one capsule per bird is sufficient

Effective against all major types of worms

Always effective first time. birds tested after use 100% clean. kills all types of worms including tape worm. cost £17 for 100 capsules. I wouldnt use anything else.

Theres no guarantee of effectiveness of any product that goes in the water as some birds dont drink it or drink enough of it. with a capsule they get the right dose and they all get it.

Piperazine was one of the original wormers for pigeons, I remember it from the early 1960s. Its very basic. It kills nothing, only stuns them, and the normal gut action [peristalsis] pushes them out, along with faeces. Not one that I would recommend, although it obviously does the basic job.

Name: Piperazine (many preparations)

•Description: Piperazine is an anthelmintic used for ascarids.

•Usage: Ascarids. Adverse reactions: None.

•Dosage: 300 mg/gallon for 2 days. 16 mg/bird for 2 days.

•Comments: Very common narrow spectrum athelmintic. It is not commonly used. Drug only sedates the worm and the bird must pass the worm before the drug is gone or it will remain in the pigeon.

do all pigeons need dewormed as a matter of course just to be on the safe side, or do they need it as a specific treatment,.ie if you suspect worms are present?

I havn't seen any worms.....................but there is this one Staff van Reet hen that has these long skinny black things in her droppings? I thought worms/tape works are light colored?  Not sure if this is natural....... she's the only one with droppings like that & they all get fed the same.

Photo of my Staff Van Reet hens dropings...........  Not sure if this is normal!  There are long dark things in the droppings. She's the only one in the loft dropping like this, if any race pro can help me I'd apreciate it, need advice on this before I go to Vet. I don't see eggs or worms in the droppings, just these long dark things............

why not just use a more modern  and effective product ascapilla+ single pigeons and moxidexin 4 flock treatment but thats just my preferance theirs plenty to choose from
