Tom Avis Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Sounds like Elvis reincarnated ;D. But seriously I haven't a clue, but I wouldn't want it anywhere near my birds. Regards Tom

OLDYELLOW Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 could have low blood sugar levels from been flown out ? add some honey / glucose or sugar too some warm water
Guest casbri Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 if it was my bird id get rid of it..better safe than sorry
billy wilson Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 when they lie down rocking it seams to me that the liver has been infected if the liver enlarges thats what causes the rocking
billy wilson Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 forgot to tell you paul the bird will have terrible watery droppings maybe grey to white then will probably die.good luck billy
DOVEScot Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Definitely isolate it, it could be just fatigue, get some glucose into into it and some light feed, it may be something simple as that but it could be something sinister, if it was your own bird you would know more of the history of it to make a better decision :-/
Sajfos Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 Paratyphus /Salmonella . Keep an eye on Your own Birds now .
shotgun tim Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 it would go to the great wheelie bin in the sky if it was at mine!!!!!!!!!!!!
DOVEScot Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 If in doubt kill it seems to be the order of the day :(
OLDYELLOW Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 bird probably is dehydrated and such as drained its vital organs of energy causing a hypoglychemic shock to its system and its systems will go in to shut down , sugared water would improve the bird but i do feel its probably too late

little sam Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 You MAY AS WELL DISPOSE OF IT, BY THIS TIME THE DAMAGE IS DONE
me Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 A YOUNG BIRD DROPPED IN THIS MORNING & STARTED SHAKING & ROCKING AS SOON AS I SAW IT I TOOK IT OUT OF MY LOFT & PUT IT STRAIGHT IN A BASKET NOW ITS SHAKING & ROCKING IN THE BASKET DOES ANYONE KNOW WHATS WRONG WITH IT SO I CAN TELL THE OWNER THANKS No one has a clue what is wrong with the bird but everyone says dispose of it? Safe rather than sorry is a good tack to take but as you seem to have away to isolate it to prevent any damage to your own birds and the bird is not yours having ago might just teach you something for the future if you have to try and help one of your own birds. Getting it to drink plenty with glucose is a must but just as importantl keep it warm tonight if at all possible. The poor wee sowl obviously has nothing less to give and keeping it warm will definetly help. If it is actually interested in eating a little decent wheat would be my choice. Best of luck.
COTTONHEAT Posted September 9, 2008 Author Report Posted September 9, 2008 THEY WERE IN A RACE FROM NEWARK
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 hawk attack can do that to some youngsters but you say owner has others like it get rid of it????

Guest spin cycle Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 i know this is a bit off thread but i had a silkie bant do this once (this time of year)...i thought it was maereks disease which silkies are particularly prone to. but next day she was fine...wandered over to the windfall plums and started eating...they were fermenting and she was drunk.back on topic, i'm not one for culling...except when birds are ill/injured.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted September 9, 2008 Report Posted September 9, 2008 nor am i but if owner has culled others its madness to keep it around other birds or evan in garden
