Roland Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Who stocks Flightpath? Seen that it is sold in England, Euro etc. but not in the rest of the world yet. But only have the bosses names that sell it, and not the companies!
REDCHEQHEN Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 I think you can only get this direct from manufacturer http://www.microbialdevelopments.co.uk/ products at top of page
Guest Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Think you're right cos that's the link I used to purchase mine. They only sell in 6 & 12 packs, and payment is by paypal which costs extra again.
Roland Posted December 28, 2007 Author Report Posted December 28, 2007 Thank you both of you. I am of course interested. How did you find it as regards any good? ... if you indeed did use it? It is in reality an olternative to stock fleaces that the birds will / do eat at times. Thougfh what never ceases to amaze me is when I feed, and spill over the floor, regardless how hungry they tendnever to pick any up that is in the droppings!
Guest Posted December 28, 2007 Report Posted December 28, 2007 Well I have used it for 6 months now Roland. I began it as a trial really, to see what changes if any it brought about in the birds. I'd been using natural yoghurt before that, and frankly can't see any outward difference in them either way. I think Flightpath is easier to give on the food one day, once a month, whereas the yoghurt was a 3-consecutive days job, once a month - so altho cheaper its more bovver.. I have also been feeding G10 pellets for 10 months. To be honest, began it as a trial too, but main reason for that was that I had picked up wrongly that it contained a probiotic. It is of course a prebiotic that it contains which is the sugars the good bacteria (probiotic) feed on. But I have two problems now (1) probiotic & prebiotic as well as forming an integral part of the gut wall immune system also aid digestion ... and my birds gain weight very very easily. I put them on a barley diet for a week about a month back, weight seemed to drop off them, but its back on. So I need to find the correct 'grain' ration cos the birds are obviously getting a lot more nutrient from their feed. (2) A recently published book ‘Vet tips for Fanciers’ ISBN 978-963-86999-1-6, prompted me to contact the company for advice on using Flight Path and Garlic. Pp 14 -20 of the book describes an experiment in which garlic use kills certain friendly bacteria, but not other friendly bacteriia? The author suggests that this is because some probiotic strains are resistant to garlic. I explained that I have used Flight Path monthly as recommended, for 6 months, and described my sequence: I usually give it on Mondays. I use garlic in the drinkers mostly only at weekends, usually from Saturday evening through to Monday morning, when it is replaced by ‘plain’ water. This is because I feel the weekend is the period when the birds are at greatest risk of disease, from foreign organisms picked up in the race basket. I give garlic like this every weekend throughout the year. On the month that the birds are given Flight Path, it is given on their food on the Monday morning and after the drinking water has been changed to ‘plain’ water. I asked them for information: (a) On allicin-resistant and allicin-susceptible bacteria in Flight Path, or did they intend experiments to identify these in light of the book’s revelations, and publish their results? ( And what their recommendation is when both Flight Path and Garlic are in use in a pigeon loft? Would Flight Path require to be given more than once a month? (This of course would completely alter the cost of using the product.) To date I have not had an acknowledgement or reply to my email - pretty pssd at that I can tell you, so much so seriously thinking of going back to yoghurt.

Gemthepax is in G10 pellets, its a prebiotic - a sugar to feed bacteria - but doesn't contain the bacteria itself. A probiotic contains the live bacteria. They are two entirely different things, with different functions and different end results.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Making same eror as I did, all those moths ago. Gemthepax is in G10 pellets, Well I tried both and found no difference at all in performance or condition , so save a lot of money by using neither

Guest Brusher Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 how would you administer cider vinegar during the racing season
sammy Posted December 29, 2007 Report Posted December 29, 2007 Seen that it is sold in England, Euro etc. but not in the rest of the world yet. But only have the bosses names that sell it, and not the companies! try ASDA ;D ;D ;D

Definitely not cheap at £38 for 500ml. No mention of dose, but suspect 500ml wouldn't last very long, 2/3 times a week? Garlic bulb & cider vinegar & yoghurt ;D cheaper than chips ;D , but Roland is 'sitting' on info there, and I've an email off to Gordon Chalmers for some clarification. Will post when I get a reply.
Guest Posted January 2, 2008 Report Posted January 2, 2008 cant beat form oil just to stick the brewers yeast to the food it has every vit. birds need ! tried all the rest no diference was buying that good oil from asda but it has rocketed up in price in just 3 months so will have to go back to ad-herb oil does tom law not stock flightpath stuf bruno
HOMER49 Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Hi Think you will find that Flightpath is only sold by the makers because it MUST be kept refrigerated until use GOOD PRODUCT if used correctly Cheers Homer 49
