chickadee Posted December 25, 2008 Report Posted December 25, 2008 hi we use stalosan, and we find it great we get it from a bird supplier in perth scotland
Fair Play Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 The stuff I got this time was different from the others I have had in the past it was more of a sugary consistency when the others have been a fine powder just wondered if they had changed it
Lennut Tar Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 hi we use stalosan, and we find it great we get it from a bird supplier in perth scotland Yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but you buy everything for the birds (grin grin) if I remember it right now ??????????, you even love buying that expensive honey too. "Poor old Dovescot". Unfortunately it seems to me, he will never be able to retire to the life of leisure/pleasure, if you continue to buy all those goodies under the sun. For those little champs of yours. Enjoy.

Lennut Tar Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 last time we bought it it was still powdery, I wonder if your bag got damp somehow? As you well know, by now ?????????? I'm not the brightest bunny around here, not by a long shot, so I dont mind admitting etc. I wouldn't have a bloody clue what your talking about above. Enjoy.
Guest IB Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 It's 25kg fine powder in a paper bag, and there is a warning not to let it get wet. Doesn't say what will happen to it tho.
rembrant2coo Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 I use it and find it a very good product i use it sparingly with a mix of sawdust on the deep litter , had no problems with it going hard this could be that your shed is damp or its where you are keeping it stored
DOVEScot Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 The stuff I got this time was different from the others I have had in the past it was more of a sugary consistency when the others have been a fine powder just wondered if they had changed it They must have changed it because there is no way the powder could crystallise it just tends to go lumpy, or you would have to really soak it :-/
Fair Play Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 It was more of a red colour than the usual pink kept dry just begining to wonder if it was a bit damp on receipt but on saying that it still gets caught in the filter of the mask

But it does go red when sprinkled on a damp patch. Maybe yours has been a bit damp to start with?
frank-123 Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 it used to be very cheap stuff until the pigeon user started buying it
chickadee Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 it used to be very cheap stuff until the pigeon user started buying it yes because the farmers used it for their animals
