Guest Davy Fleming Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 Hi Guys, Listen and listen very carefully to this and I definately say this without fear of contradiction. If you are serious about getting your pigeons right for cocci , canker , worms , bacteria , fungal, or ANY other problems. Gary Spavin in Lancaster is an absolute genius, if you care to go and see him he will show you right there and then on a large moniter in front of your eyes what he is doing and what he is looking for and tell you exactly what to do to get them right. Ask what ever you like and you will get an education from him if you are prepared to listen. ALL his medicines are made from natural herbs and not muck. Phone him, see him, make up your own mind and then do whatever you want but ignore him at your peril any other questions give me a ring on 07961441470

Guest Owen Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 The best way is to learn to do it yourself. I don't trust a lot of the people who advertise the service. I know that some of them don't do it properly and mislead you. Some of them allow their staff to do it and others claim to do it when in fact they would not be able to get a result because the samples are too stale to give reliable results. This applies to post mortems especially. To be totally sure that you have seen canker and hexamita you would normally rely on motility to be sure. Samples sent by post will have killed the bugs before they get anywhere near the microscope. Obviously, I would not sugest that they are all con men but a lot definately are. Another reason for doing your own is the fact that you need to test again after you have treated for a problem. Medication does not always work first time. I have seen cases of cocci and yeast that have been really difficult to treat. If you do not check after the treatment you would never find out. If you must use a lab, take the samples yourself so that they are fresh. And ask to see the slides under the microscope so that you know for sure that you are being told the truth. Sorry if I sound scepticle but I've had by experts but at least I've learned from it.
