paullock Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 What do you think are the best sprint pigeon strain and who would you purchase them from?
Delboy Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Northern pigeon auctions, G& W.MacAloney
ALF Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 Northern pigeon auctions, G& W.MacAloney Had a good look through the sales list this morning some serious pigeons in the sale
dudley Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 hi the best sprint i have bought in are the lambrects, from graham mathews birmingham, hope this helps, ken.
paullock Posted October 20, 2009 Author Report Posted October 20, 2009 Thanks Ken thats not too far from me.
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 hi i agree the lambrechts are a good sprint pigeon but the next thing is the de meyers and the gert heylens which all swap pigeons with lambrechts as they all work together and the de meyers have been dominateing the wolves fed and you just missed the sale of kevin heads which was an entire clerance so you had the chance to buy the best . but a certain steve maylett brought most of the important breeders
Guest bakes Posted October 20, 2009 Report Posted October 20, 2009 staff van reets, sootjens, lambrechts good sprint strains all the best
schouwman71 Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 staff van reets, sootjens, lambrechts good sprint strains all the best agree, love the sootjen strain, the early ones anyway, and very fast if you get the right ones. les
vanreets Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 VAN REETS BUT THEY ARE MIDDLE AS WELL
steve d Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 hi i agree the lambrechts are a good sprint pigeon but the next thing is the de meyers and the gert heylens which all swap pigeons with lambrechts as they all work together and the de meyers have been dominateing the wolves fed and you just missed the sale of kevin heads which was an entire clerance so you had the chance to buy the best . but a certain steve maylett brought most of the important breeders The de mayers have not been dominating the Wolves Fed mate, who has told you that???? Good results have been achieved with them A Farrar, K Head, A&L Painter to name a few, no doubt about it good results but to say that this breed have dominated is simply false, I race 70% Wildys and have topped the fed this year, also 2nd 3rd etc etc, the lad in my club has won the most fed cards in this fed and he flys Hybrechts, marcelis and wildys, another club mate done good with walter docx, not knocking you mate but they are false facts you have been given. Like anything else a new year will see a new strain rise to the top, the best sprinters in my opinion are ..........crosses......just my opinion m8. ;)
blackdog Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 i fly the jansens and karel boeckx, found them to be good sprinters.
schouwman71 Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 its all 2 with feeding not strains mate no it isnt, pigeons are bred and built for a purpose, some pigeons carnt fly further than 150 miles, ive seen them in belguim, used only for sprints, people have brought them into this country and they just carnt handle our race programme. les

schouwman71 Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 bull ,hit so why do people catagorise pegeons ie sprint/middle/distance,whats other fanciers opinions, could turn out to be a good topic. les
tiger Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 so why do people catagorise pegeons ie sprint/middle/distance,whats other fanciers opinions, could turn out to be a good topic. les for selling
schouwman71 Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 still dissagree, sprinters will come from distance but not at there best capabality, sprinters have a different wing structure to those of the distance type. les more opinions from more fanciers ?
Guest redwhiteblue Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Northern pigeon auctions, G& W.MacAloney not knocking the mcaloney's, i see some false info on their sales list, they are NOT the furthest flying west members to win the John Donald memorial trophy in the scottish midland fed!! Some sales list though
Roland Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 still dissagree, sprinters will come from distance but not at there best capabality, sprinters have a different wing structure to those of the distance type. les more opinions from more fanciers ? It is litually a 'Rule of the Thumb' to tell what distance you can expect from them. Held in the hands with head towards you of course, then draw the line. A flipping nigh certainty that.

A flipping nigh certainty that. sorry for showing my ignorance roland, but could you please explain further on what you mean.....being new to racing, its all new to me.
taffacre Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 LOUIS COOREMANS, not many about ,dont forget the name, watch this space!!!!!!!!!!!!
dudley Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 i have tryed these over the channel, good up to 300mls,after that you want a special bird, and different prep for channel racing, only my opinion, but back to sprint races these lambrects of graham mathews have won every race point inland this year, and topped the fed,the last young bird race this year we took the first seven in the club and all seven in top 20 in the fed,we also have the van hoeckes from mickey collins these have won hundreds of fed cards in the derby burton fed,but grahams lambrects are faster, hope this you,ken
BLACK W F Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 if it was all in the feeding folk would only have one family and bring in crosses as and when needed like the old saying horses for corses your correct Les but you will also get odd ones that will perform at longer distances
Guest waynemorris Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 LOUIS COOREMANS i think there's a few more about than you think
