i topped the fed by feeding my birds peanuts and small round dog biscuits(already heard all the jokes) ;D

they was found pecking at the dogs food bowl and i saw them eating them....i find they will eat almost anything..with them biscuits containing loads of diifferent vits and minerals they were getting what they needed in them...this is of course besides their corn lol.

as ive explained before...one of my best racing hens was called peanut. :)

Should only be two a day and you can give them more on basketing as they will burn that of  during the race do you feed peanuts all year

i feed mine throughout the racing season ,especially youngsters.

oldbirds get fed what they want...they wont get fat if they are working hard...lazy birds get fat on them!

protein is a muscle builder/repairer...but too much protein will be stored as fat so i see what you mean by giving too many will make them fat.

throught the week i trap my birds with peanuts as they are crazy for them.

i think a big tip for a novice would be to get them used to peanuts and dont over feed them with corn.

steven van bremen i believe is a big supporter of usung peanuts.

My w/hood cocks get a peanut (human grade) each everytime I enter their loft.

Once my y/birds have the taste for them they're offered to them by hand, if they dont take them from the hand they go without.

you should try feeding them from between your lips but shut your eyes just in case lol

I just bought some peanuts from the garden centre, but put in for the birds but they struggled and infact couldnt swallow them as they were that big! Am I supposed to crush them up or what?

If they're for wild birds bin em, they're a low grade peanut which contain toxins & mould.

Use redskin peanuts from Morrisons, pigeons love them and are given approx 10 a day leading up to the channel races and if they want more they can get them..
