Bilco Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 A little dicky bird has whispered in my ear that there may not be any Blackpool next year. Not sure of it, so I am checking round now. I'll be back. Bill.

Bill. That would be a shame as i know a lot of people who have already booked accomadation to go next year
Bilco Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 No, I spoke to my informant and the info is not correct, it started as an article in the local newspaper but is false. Bill.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 No, I spoke to my informant and the info is not correct, it started as an article in the local newspaper but is false. Bill. Well if it is an item about the Winter Gardens being turned in to a shopping complex because of the millions needed to restore it because it has lost hugh grants then it is true and so there might eventually be no Blackpool.
OLDYELLOW Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Well if it is an item about the Winter Gardens being turned in to a shopping complex because of the millions needed to restore it because it has lost hugh grants then it is true and so there might eventually be no Blackpool. im supprised the local council hasent stepped in as thats what normaly happens at Scarborough all council tax payers pay for the likes of Stevens Joesph theatre ectra , besides if Blackpool loose the winter gardens the whole town looses out think of the revenue they must make from the car parks alone ,then you have the trade the hotels have at this time , if it is the case then surely the R.P.R.A should be looking at a more central location , and a bigger site to have it then more would attend
ribble Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 No need for special informant's. It was stated on BBC north west news a few days ago that the Gardens need a 20 million refurbishment and the council have withdrawn fundings. They are looking at making it into a shopping center.
terry mccarthy Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 personally i think it should be moved every year one year in london area or south east then in midlands then blackpool give everyone a chance to go then as it is now is very boring and same old thing at least change is good
b.massey Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 Think Blackpool/winter gardens is what makes it. Bit like tradition.
OLDYELLOW Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 personally i think it should be moved every year one year in london area or south east then in midlands then blackpool give everyone a chance to go then as it is now is very boring and same old thing at least change is good i think London wouldnt come high up on my list of places to hold such an event the congestion alone plus the congestion charges would certainly deter most a central location with good access and good facilitys would be better and a constant home as some have difficultys finding there way to there wallet never mind a location i suppose the East Coast show will gain if Blackpool goes
aarden Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 blackpool is a tradition,,but does leave a lot to be desired
korhil2 Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 any one know if 2010 is going to be the last one ?
