If you cannae get him a free pup Tam the next best bet is a Border Collie you can always pick them up for around £100 had mine nearly 3 yrs now and shes a brilliant wee dug ;) They are easy enough to train and are full of life

Agree with this....am all for re-homing dogs..we've got 3 !!

If your mate  can wait a few weeks, unfortunately the kennels will have plenty to choose from.

There is a rescue society for every breed of dog, whatever you fancy, just use a search engine like google and you will  find them. They all rely on donations and usually charge a fee for adopting the dogs to help towards the cost of worming them, neutering them, kennel fees etc etc.I actually think it is a bargain because it would cost you a lot more to neuter, vaccinate the dog at your own vets, plus you are giving a dog a second chance in life :)

I have had dogs most of my time, mostly german shepherds, but 5 years ago i got a border collie from the kennels, its the best trained dog i have ever had, dont think it was abandond as its a gem, look for a kennel without wee or poo, those are usually the klean dogs, and take the dog out to your car see if its car trained ' and a wee walk will give you an idea if its a biddable dog or not
