Not had it from the RPRA, but I have had it from Local Councils. I'm afraid it is the direction most organisations are following.

When you are a Member Club of the RPRA your fees cover you for this, but the SHU doesn't have this in place. I tried getting it for my Federation, but couldn't buy it as a stand alone product. I had to take out a Club Insurance to get it. :)

We have insurance for baskets and clocks but also had to have public liability insurance for the club, couldn't get any insurance cover without it - that's been the case for atleast 3 years

 

This was the only way I could get Public Liability cover for my Federation. We had to take out Club insurance for our baskets and trailer, etc. The liability came with this as standard. :)

We used to have club insurance to cover the clocks and baskets in storage - they would no longer do it without public liability insurance which we did not have before - it added about £100 to the cost - it costs more to cover the baskets and clocks than it does to insure my home for full rebuilding costs and public liability
