  1. bruno that is the best thing I have read on here.
  2. I know birds have to be tested but if they are no longer breeding you birds that win why keep them. Take a look at your results over the last 2 years, any stock bird that has not bred a winner in the last 2 years bin it. If your left with 5 pairs that have bred winners in last 2 years email me your phone number.
  3. If you have lots of money and you go out and buy 10 pairs of proven stock from different fanciers. Take them home and breed from them you will find that 2 or 3 pairs are breeding birds to beat the other 7 or 8 pairs offspring. So you will have stoped 7 or 8 pairs from breeding winners as the winners are now coming from just 2 or 3 pair. So no matter how good the 7 or 8 pairs were at breeding in other lofts they would not be breeding you your top birds.
  4. I think of stock birds as birds that breed winners not birds that might breed winners and if you have 2 stock pair that breed winners each year you are a lucky man. I know guys that have 20 to 30 stock pairs and never win a race. theses same birds are 4 to 10 years old. Why are the birds in the stock loft if they do not breed winners? They tell me it is a son of this, a full brother to that, Who gives a xxxx if it is not racing or breeding winners it should be in the bin not the stock loft.
  5. Unlike approved drugs, herbs are almost entirely unregulated for safety, uniformity of contents, and contamination.
  6. Anyone got a copy of the Mick Ganus young bird video they could sell me?
  7. Yes it can be and has been done for years with great results.
  8. Get a rat trap the cage kind. catch two of them and leave in cage until one eats the other and becomes what is knowen as a cannibal rat then let it free.
  9. For young birds on the dark read this. Both Richard Hogg and Mark Foulis are at the very top of the sport and if you where to win in your life time what theses guys have won in a single year with young birds you would be a very happy man. http://www.pigeonportal.com/spps/ahpg.cfm?spgid=17
  10. There is an old saying "You will not make a silk purse out of a sows ear"
  11. Yes but it is still an average pigeon. It may beat a good pigeon in the wrong hands but it will not beat a good pigeon in the right hands. The first thing you need is good birds you will not win without them and you will never know if you have good birds if you dont know how to manage them right. Search online for all the top winning birds you will find they all come from winning lines. I have yet to see a top bird come from a long line of also rans.
  12. You still need good birds, Good birds and good management is needed as one is lost without the other. There has been to many fanciers who only started winning when they got in different birds to say it is all down to management.
  13. Gangster what part of the world are they from and do they race?
  14. I did not post that about my birds to try and sell them I done it to show how good the Hartogs I got from John Gerard are.
  15. Hello gangster hows things with you? when you comming back over to see my birds. The wife says she will make you another good fry.
  16. My family of hartogs was build from John Gerard hartogs and have won 90+ first in 9 years. I have the folowing top hartogs in my stock loft all have bred and are still breeding winning pigeons for me and others. Cock 1 is A son of Ice cap (full brother to bull head) Cock 2 is a son of the 388 sire and g/sire of 5 x 1st Nat winners,(full brother to bull head) Cock 3 is a son of Gelooger. (full brother to bull head) Cock 4 is a son of 499 paired to D79.
  17. The point I was making was the fact that the one loft race birds come form family's of birds that fly both north and south. So if you had a one loft race in the south the birds that would dominate that race would be coming from the family's of bird that flew south.
  18. If dogs had been selected on eye sign to breed for speed would there be such a thing as a grey hound?
  19. I would be looking to the birds droppings to see if they were ok.
  20. You have to ask yourself If the Janssen pigeons of Arendonk were only good when flying to Arendonk? Answer no and the same can be said for all the main strains. Good birds are good birds they are born that way.
  21. If that was the case, the one loft races would be won by local birds
  22. Who buys birds from people they know nothing about? name address club results etc? I know there are some silly people but who would be that silly?
  23. Is the bird next to the hen on pic 4 down of the 388 ? and would it be possible to post the pedigrees
  24. Total rest
  25. The day after your last race is the first day of the new season.
