you dont get much of a headstart only a couple of weeks at most i would think so as yearlings it wouldnt make any differance if they were 2 weeks older 17 1/2 months or 18 months old ps- i dont get my rings till january and it doesnt bother me that i could be racing against birds 2 or 3 weeks older than mine i would be doing that anyway if i paired up later
no idea frank but i know there are members of the north fed that fly from inverness there is a fed flying from wick, thurso and off lying islands but these lads cant compete with aberdeen peterhead etc in the nationals with 100 to 150 miles overfly
the north section streches from stonehaven to thurso and all the offlying islands well over 150 miles from one end to the other and covering the whole north from west to east aswell i think if you add all the other sections together you would easily fit them all into the north section
the fairest thing is to pick an area on the southcoast of england somewhere in the middle and take measurements from there any loft flying under say 350 miles is in sec A FROM 350 TO 380 SEC B FROM 380 TO 410 SEC C FROM 410 TO 440 SEC D FROM 440 UPWARDS SEC E THESE DISTANCES ARE ONLY A GUIDE AS SECTIONS MAY BE BIGGER OR SMALLER BUT THE PIONT USED FOR CALCULATION WOULD BE SET IN STONE AND APPLY FOR ALL NATIONAL RACES THERE SHOULD BE NO CONSIDERATION TAKEN FOR EAST OR WEST FLYING OR CENTRAL SECTIONS SHOULD BE BASED TOTALY ON DISTANCE TO FLY AS THE WIND WEATHER CHANGES ALL THE TIME AND EVERYONE GETS A BITE AT THE CHERRY AT SOMETIME THE PRODOMINENT WEST WINDS ARE NOT SO PRODOMINENT THESE DAYS JUST LOOK AT THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS WEVE HAD A LOT OF BIRDS REPORTED IN IRELAND IN NATIONAL RACES DUE TO EAST WINDS JMO
tie his legs together he wont be able to bully any then and the others will give him a dose of his own medicine then when you untie him he wont be so keen to drive the others off if he does it again repeat the treatment
