  3. Hi, If you are going to post with or for the following reasons: - banter/fun - general chat - an unrelated item (unrelated to pigeons) post it on the Chit-Chat board. This new board may be found under 'Members Only' - 6th down from the top. Any posts posted in other boards that fit the above criteria; may be moved to the Chit-chat board. A problem that a number of members have asked me about is the recent popularity in what is probably best termed 'topic hijacking'. This is where a member asks a relevant question, and at some stage during the replies the topic becomes 'banter' between (usually) other members. I've instructed the moderators to split, any topics which become like this and move the irrelevant post into the Chit-Chat board. If members could refrain from 'topic hijacking' it would make the moderators, and my life a lot easier. Please note that this post is not aimed at any member; I'm just stating what I'd like, and like not, to happen in the future. Richard

  11. The quality of the photos is going to vary quite considerably between the entries; there wouldn't be any sure fire way for me or anyone else to judge that a professional took the photos, or that the member was just good with the camera. I would like to think that when the voting starts, that members will be able to see 'through' the photography to judge on the best bird, and not necessarily the best picture.
  12. Cock and hens sent to me for this class. If there are more than 10 of each, we will run two sections, and have the two winners going forward to the grand final (1 cock, 1 hen).
  13. I've changed the setting on our 'temporary chat' so that you can register a username, so no-one else will be able to use it. I'll looking into other chat solutions as a more permanent base than this temp chat. I'm unable to do anything about anyone using your usernames in any other chat room than the one which I run, I can only suggest you use this one.
  14. Pigeonbasics Online Show Entries are now open for the Young Bird Racer Class (to have been bred in 2006). To enter please send a photograph of the pigeon by email only to [mail]forum@pigeonbasics.com[/mail]. Also include your message forum username, and the sex of the bird, with your entry. There is a limit on entries; one entry per class per member. Please dont put anything in the background of the photos that could identify you the competitor. Also photos should be taken in the couple of days/week prior to the class being entered. The show is open to all forum members. Entries close midnight (GMT) Sunday 3rd December 2006. Judging will start Monday 4th December by the way of member poll on this forum. Webmaster

  20. Under no circumstances are photos to be added to the forum by the member for the show. List of entrants with their birds is posted when the result is posted. Entries by email please
  21. Non-Racers would be anything but racers. So show-racers and any fancy breed. With entries (hen/cock) if you put on the entry if the bird is a hen or a cock; and if there are enough entries I'll run two classes for that week. A rough guide would be minimum of 10 cocks and 10 hens to run the 2 classes. But still only a single entry for that class per member; i.e. if you enter a cock in the YB Racer class, you cannot also enter a hen. Objections?
  22. I've pulled these classes from the shows that we ran last year. If there are no objections, or ideas to change something (will be posted in this topic), take these as the shows for winter 2006/2007. Shows: 1. YB Racer (2006 Bred) Entries - 27th Nov - 3rd Dec; Judging - 4th Dec - 9th Dec; Results - 10th Dec 2. YB Non-Racer (2006 Bred) Entries - 4th Dec - 10th Dec; Judging - 11th Dec - 16th Dec; Results - 17th Dec 3. OB Racer (Pre 2006) Entries - 11th Dec - 17th Dec; Judging - 18th Dec - 23rd Dec; Results - 24th Dec 4. OB Non-Racer (Pre 2006) Entries - 18th Dec - 24rd Dec; Judging - 25th Dec - 30th Dec; Results - 31st Dec 5. Any Age Pairs Entries - 25th Dec - 31st Dec; Judging - 1st Jan - 6th Jan; Results - 7th Jan 6. Golden Oldies/Favourites Entries - 1st Jan - 7th Jan; Judging - 8th Jan - 13th Jan; Results - 14th Jan 7. Grand Final Judging - 14th Jan - 18th Jan; Results - 19th Jan (Blackpool show Friday) Each show: Entries open; Monday - Sunday, Judging Poll; Monday - Saturday, Results Sunday. That is a 14 day cycle; so when the one weeks show poll opens, the next shows entries will be taken. So we have every week, an entry, and a judge poll. Entries: Limited to one entry per show per member. To be emailed to [mail]forum[at]pigeonbasics.com[/mail] (change the [at] to @), and under no circumstances posted onto the forum. Webmaster
