thanks Davie... glad to see the other 2 at 9.10 and 9.19 this morning! over 100 pigeons clocked this morning...

another 'squeaky bum' training flight today, still 300 pigeons adrift this evening... they have worked well all day so I'm sure we will see plenty over next two days... tough training but only the warriors survive what is ranked as the most extreme one loft race in the world! Scottish pigeons I would say faired very well, 12 from my team of 14 worked in with the last one being at 6.30pm this evening! Jock Ross 3/7 Team Doolanders 2/2 Team Seashore 1/1 :scotland: ... so well done lads on another great effort, lets hope a great Final is slowly warmng up!!

TRAINING 09 will be tomorrow with an approx. lib time of 11.00am 1051 young birds have been entered for the 50km training flight good luck for tomorrow, lets hope no falcons and we get a nice straight forward fly for the pigeons.

ha ha ha Mr.B nice one... I think our passenger was the biggest culprit, he'll be in the spare room next year! :emoticon-0136-giggle:

Followed the 8th Training flight whilst at Blackpool, and to say my ar*e was twitching was an understatement! Very good training flight once again, but they were hit by falcons again, with a lot of late returns and 6 pigeons returning today... My team of 15 were well burst up and wasn't looking good for a spell, but managed 11 home on the day of lib, 2 next day, and one last nite at 6.42pm which was DIAZEPAN 1 (phew... thank god!) so only one lost! All the other Scots made it being entered by JOCK ROSS 7/7, Team DOOLANDERS 2/2, Team SEASHORE 1/1 well done lads, lets keep the flag flying met up with John Bosworth and Jim Smith with there good ladies Arlene and Mary, in the Winter Gardens and we had a good blether about various pigeon topics including the DERBY ARONA OLR look forward to the Final lads, and hopefully all going well will be there this year, fingers crossed for some Scottish doos at the main event...

TRAINING 08... tomorrow approx. lib time 10.45am... 44km 1113 pigeons entered, good luck!

TRAINING 06... tomorrow... expected lib at 10.30am good luck to all competitors, we are all 'in it to win it', regardless of the outcome of some of the training flights, no different from the pigeon game through out the world I expect where we all encounter some dodgy racing, after which the youngsters seem to steady themselves and some enjoyable racing is then experienced... Derby Arona not much different although the losses are heavy on occasions, the bravehearts will be there at the end!

TRAINING 06 now rescheduled for Saturday 11th January

hope so m8... some years we get skelpt from the off-shore training then the island training goes well, some years its the other way about... the first year I sent over 400 birds made it to the final once there in the air your in the hands of the gods as they say, could happen anywhere I expect... not a big % made it the final of the Scottish OLR last year

this year the first off shore training race is 5km into the sea, which I'm sure is the shortest I've witnessed so hopefully helps...

agree its a hard game this OLR, it was at my third attempt that my activated pigeon 'Diazepan' cracked it for me, then this year my home bred 'Big Bro' once again gave me a great result... never give up! Jim Hannah has done me two cracking portraits of Diazepan and Big Bro' sire, will get them posted up soon...
