in this day and age when our sport is in an obvious state of decline, why do we have to fly from 600 miles plus... no disrespect to any of the previous winners and there champion winning pigeons, but these races generally turn out to be endurance tests and not a race, and thus won by homers and not racers... forcing pigeons to fly in these tiny convoys taking days to home is in my eyes clearly a form of 'cruelty', pigeons become lost and disorientated, dehydrated and starving, then they become easy victims to a whole host of raptors, etc... not pigeon racing, IMO!

well who all activated pigeons for the forthcoming training races and main races where the real prizes are to be won, three motor cars and the big prizemomey from the main event, 300km from the island of Fuerteventura! ??? post up the pigeon you have activated, its name(s)and the picture of it/them if possible?

its in a town called Guaza (pronounced Waza!), very close to Las Americas... you pass it enroute from the airport

TRAINING 04 took place on 13th December with excellent returns! There was another training race today from 25km, and yet again excellent returns, the 21 Scottish doos are still in contention :scotland:

1190 pigeons basketted for tomorrow training flight, still 21 Scottish contenders amongst them

1196 pigeon sent to Training 03, only 3 short... a few late ones though, maybe due to there first falcon attack!

IMO... when fanciers start flying out there skins because they get out there bed at the crack of dawn and work there pigeons, they are then knocked down and blamed for cheating in some form, doping seems to be the common 'sticks n stones' excuse!

great stuff, good to see well run feds expanding in this day n age

erratic controlling, clashing, raptors... all very common in todays racing, puts your drug theory right out the window!

at the moment there are two Scottish teams , myself (13 entries) and Jock Ross (8 entries) but as Allan mentioned I can see a few teams jumping in at the activation stage, great fun this part picking a doo and have a punt! 1198 birds liberated this morning, with 1192 home at the moment...
