Lost a youngbird at 100 mile race, it went into C Craggs & Son &G Son loft less than 20 mile from where it was liberated, 2 year later it was 2nd UNC Bourges for them the year Rod Adams won race.It made me think and taught me to give pigeons a chance which I'm glad I did as pigeon that was 1st club 1st fed 4th reg 4th open 4500 birds well its mother was lost at 135 miles and returned a year later was lost again at same race point but only took a month to return this time it has bred pigeons to score but couldn't race very well itself.
To be perfetly honest if all those who are opposed to this idea were so concerned about the welfare of the future of pigeon racing instead of the politics behind it then it should not be a problem, but it will be the usual politics between Pentland and Midlothian that shall be the decider. My own opinion is the more pigeons coming up the east coast together the better. I think all federations concerned would benefit with better racing and better returns. LET'S ALL THINK OF THE PIGEON AND THE FUTURE OF PIGEON RACING FOR A CHANGE, instead of our grievences.
Well done Tom Murphy. We didn't all get good returns as I lost 12 out of 28 and it was all the consistent ones that are not home, I think the early pigeon's clashed with the 4000 pigeon's liberated at Wetherby ( Essex fed )at 11 am hence our velocities are less than other fed's and returns spaced out.
