I have worked with livestock most of my life and i cannot belive the (fanciers) whoare using antibiotics ad lib.People complain about ob/yb losses but i know of plenty of fanciers who prop thier lofts up with anti biotics. Baytril seems to be the in drug a powerful drug used to cure calves with e coli scours. If the calf goes down again its culled Baytril is a one use drug yet fanciers are using it 3or4 times a season . I have spoken to a number of good avian vets who think these people are setting a time bomb for a super bug look at lofts who have yb sickness every year people are using antibiotics for the wrong illness in most cases. Baytril clears the gut of all enzimes bad but more importantly good as well and this leads increased suseptability to illness. Yet people still suggest giving Baytril 2or3 times a year they want thrashing. Just look at what happen to pigs and poultry when anti biotics were used ad lib drugs became next to useless. Please think hard if it that sick and will not pick up on a single treatment cull.

The only way i have found to fly against percy is to fly open hole and know his feeding and breeding cycle and watch when the corn stubble is being ploughed in. If you see him about use agricultural rockets 10 bob each usually they do not like it up em Mr Mainwaring.

My local club is 17mls away the club radius is 40miles round membership 17 in rural areas we are really struggling . its sometimes easy to mock some clubs for membership but for rural clubs its a real struggle.

I train my birds from any direction n,s,e or w from young birds i cannot afford to train line of flight and the same for old ones and i do not lose as many as the chaps who tram line .My birds are good old english birds which like it hard look at Marley Westrop and Des Coulter too name just two . It tend to be the sprinters who lose the most because they rarely go over 300mls and they MUST have line of flight. On Mr Vandenabeele he is a super flyer and breeder over many years although i do not have his birds .
