In reply to Mr Wilcox i do not think that would work it would be a rich mans club if you say sent 6 to each of the old bird races thats £120 plus pooling if required. plaes remember this is a working mans sport and you have to think of all not just the rich.

I have written on this suject once before but next weekend the CSCFC committee meet the proposed closure of Cricklade marking station is on the list . This will leave only 3 stations all in the southern sections they are Poole,Frome and Winchester leaving the NW and NE regions with no marking stations and long journeys for those who remain. To cap this for the 2 longest races it is proposed for just 1 station at Salisbury . Again the NW and NE sections members are at a disadvantage concerning travel . Please speak to your area committee members for a fair deal for all or i fear as mentioned before both the NE and NW will fall away badly.

Hello Mark ring the BICC secretary Jan Deacon on 023-9264-7762 she is very helpful. The BICC programme for the shorter flyers consists of 5 races to you from approx 190mls to 300mls you enter on the day so no pre-entry a week early and the cost at present is £1.75/bird so you do not lose out if a bird just isnt right on the day. You also mark at Wantage not having to travel far the 5 longer races starting from 530 mls to 670mls to you costs £8 for Marsaille,Dax Barcelona and Perpignan and £13 for Pau. Good luck Wantage is a nice friendly club and very competative also the Dax hens winner Dave Posey marks thier for the BICC he is a really nice man who flys a very small team very well.

Try using cattle minerals very good 1/3rd the price of pigeon minerals which are a rip off.Try getting salt licks its about£4 per half hundred weight. Pigeon flyers are ripped off over this and many other things like wormer. By the way 56lb of minerals for cattle £5 to £8.

I fly with Carterton its alright good crates like the BICC and the birds are not one eyed handrailers . They get bust up and have to think not enough channel for me but thats just my opinion. The BICC mark at Wantage that is certainly a club worth joining.

Red kites as stated before will train your birds and make them hawk wise they are no trouble and great to watch.

Try and find a fancier who flys well and that other people also do well with thier birds. Fot instance Pat King of Wantage who has bred a number of national and classic winners plus numerous club wins at the distance from all over the Uk is packing up due to pigeon lung . His birds are sons and daughters out of Pau and San Sabastian pigeons who have been in the top 10 for fanciers .He is also a damn good flyer in his own right his birds are not paper birds just damn good pigeons.

Its very easy to critise Peter but we need a pro in PR badly .Peter is an administrator not Max Clifford he is a decent and honest chap and when you look and listen to alot of so called pro's from the major nationals who speak like soccer player being interviewed. Peter is articulate and comes over clearly yes he is not Max Clifford but he is not are PRO either could any of us do much better ?.

Paul Kenny flys with Wantage fc who av 400/600 birds/ race he has a very good record from 50 to 350mls the likes of Paul Kendall and Lloyd and Kelly fly with them he is a very good all round flyer.

Open hole natural pairing late march/early april the birds have to fit in with my way of life i own the pigeons . They do not own me i like my birds around me they get about 4 races a season and are jumped .I find with open hole they cope much better with the falcons and pairing when i do i miss the hawks feeding thier young and can get my birds ready for the real races of late june though till august.
