Stuart i race late breds reasonably i would let them rear a youngster around now then let them go to nest late april /may and start training on good days then let them go again and put them in a race or 2 in late june or early july come back races . Then treat as a yearling the following year it has paid dividends for myself.

Forget fancy names breeds are for chickhen Rhode island reds etc .Thier are good poor and average pigeons forget pure this and that.

Ben your training to early in poor weather IB is talking sense leave your birds let them settle the forecast is poor till next week .Pick some decent days a toss in batches of 5 15 mins apart dont be in such a rush you will ruin your birds for the season carrying on like this. The likes of Dick Antony and the other distances boys down home havent started yet be patient talk to the likes of Dick listen and learn ears and eyes open and mouth shut unless your asking questions i did this after doing exactly as you have done you only learn by your mistakes and learning to do it better .

Correct Rose the Canada goose is now endemic in the UK 3 subspecies in all the dead bird was found at the same swannery where the last outbreak occured.It is odd that no cull has taken place but can you imagine public reaction geese and poultry or pigeons not a 2nd look but swans !. This could be bad news for the likes of myself where 500/700mls is are only interest you can keep sprinting its too boring .I musy also say the Canada geese in this country do need culling they are displacing the native greylag and pink footed geese.
