  1. Lanarkshire Fed can send between 6000-7000 birds .If we could reduce our numbers and with the money we have in the bank we could quite easily purchase one new transporter without going into debt.
  2. Due to the Transporter costs should we be thinking about reducing numbers and imposing a 20 bird Limit.Think of the savings that could be made and a fairer system if we were all sending the same amount.Less Doos,Cleaning,Feeding, Pooling,Training and basketing on race nights. ;)
  3. With over 101132 visitors to the SNFC web site its dismal that we cannot get the Latest News Page updated.Hopefully this will be rectified at the AGM and common sense will prevail to appoint the Greatest Scribe that the National has ever had in its history Joe Murphy. Joe has the vision and foresight to highlight all the challanges that our pigeons put up and in particular the extraordinairy performaces of the silver and gold award pigeons . Lets hope there are major changes. All the best 2009 Budgie
  4. With regards to the race points i am not quite sure if its the 3rd of July or 17th July that we are going with the National.Hope its the 3rd as it will give the fanciers some time to get their youngsters schooled.
  5. Congratulations To all members who had the time to attend yesterdays Agm and who had the Vision and Foresight to Oust the previous President who done nothing but bring disharmony within the Fed in 2008.To all new Office Bearers lets strive for Harmony which will only come with Time and Patience.A special mention must go to Gareth for his Vision and presentation on the Transporter proposals which hopefully will come to fruition within the next few years. The Federation is also pleased (subject to the race programme being proposed by the Greastest Club in the Land S.N.F.C and being accepted)2009 Race Programme:- Old Birds 18th April Kelso 25th April Otterburn 2nd May Hexham 9th May Ripon 16th May Wakefield 182mls 25th May Newark 230mls 30th May Leicester 252mls 6th June Wanstead Flats (snfc) 13th June Otterburn 20th June Eastbourne (snfc) 26th June Rennes/Alencon (snfc) Gold Cup 27th June Otterburn 3rd July Lille/Ypres/Falaise (snfc) 4th July Tours (snfc) 17th July Falaise (snfc) Young Birds 25th July Kelso 1st August Kelso 8th August Otterburn 15th August Hexham 22nd August Weatherby 29th August Otterburn 12th Sept Leicester (snfc) 13th Off with Jock the lum on a cruise to either bum or drown our sorrows. With the best controller in the land and with the high number of pigeons left in 2008 hopefully a very enjoyable and succesful 2009 for all the boys in the West. Yours in Sport Budgie
  6. Well one thing is for sure we dont have a dictator who is a fruitcake. It will take George some time to adust but be rest assured he has the well being and the integrity to lead the Fed into better times. Lets look forward to 2009 Budgie :)
  7. Fed year book confirms Newmains Flying Club premises 29th Nov at 1.00pm.Harky try and be there it will be interesting.
  8. Go to their website just updated 28th and they vary from 4-12 year olds with no pedigree and at £30-£35 pound each.Remember 98% rule and at these ages it will go up to 99.9%. :(
  9. Wan of Tams gid Cocks must have jumped the dyke.
  10. Looks a cracker and in superb health.Has he won or left anything for the future.

  12. Well done Jumbo if they are good enough they will win.On another note how many that completed the moult and not on the Darkness system won.
  13. The reason i raised the topic was we have a few experts in our club who put them by .Then the following year go down like Snaw aff the Dyke. In our own loft we keep them going and they have scored as yearlings/2/3 and 4 year olds( with the sh-te going down 98%) and some of them never finished the moult as young birds and raced the full old bird programme to the coast.Very good and intereresting topics and i may just have a go if it is worthwhile and try the Buttermilk but not to keen on the extra hours of light. Thanks for your responses and let us all know how many pigeons that after been put of the road for a full year are left. Good Luck to 2009 And remember the 98% rule and dont be conned into buying aged stock birds and other peoples SH-TE ;) if so you would be as well racing Chinese Owls or Saxan Pouters at least you would know where they came from. ;)
  14. Totally agree with Bart get to Leicester with your yearlings then double up with the SNFC and use the two comeback races for training. Most will be presently suprised at the performences that can be put up here in the West when we are sending larger amounts to these races. ;) ;)Bigda will need tae take aff his ballyclaver tae get into the meeting ;)
  15. What distance have they flown and how many are they competing against.
  16. I think they me be strugling to complete and my question is if they dont would you set them aside and not race them next year.
  17. Woud you put your darkness youngsters aside for one year that have not completed the moult. We have a mixture with 2,3,4 flights to go and who competed in the Young Bird National. Some are saying like greyhouds and horses the must shed their coat in the First year to be any good as yearlings. We certainly had 6 some 7 years ago all timed out of the Young Bird National and as yearlings when sent to the Inland National we thought that all we had to do was send them and to this day we have never seen a pigeon.
  18. Get your facts right and remember who sends the most pigeons to every race.We have never had a 24ft loft and remember i am only quoting the sh-te that other people are offloading.Take it up wae yer we pal who has all the facts and are you being allowed oot the night for a pint.(Some Talk) ;)Airing yer washing in Public how many Doos have yae got fur racing excluding the latebreds.
  19. Ill end this post as i begun .Take note of all the comments and dont buy pigeons that have left nothing or bred one in ten years and always bear in mind the 98% SH-TE rule and if they were any good thae widnae be selling. ;) Take care and watch your money and all the best in 2009. ;)
  20. Think of the Glory and Prestiege in scoring well in both Great clubs on the same day.It will give us all a chance to increase the numbers we send and get a fairer crack at the whip and hopefully we will get more East Winds to give the boys in the West a chance. But lets not forget the 98% rule and Gareths quote that only 0.5 % of all pigeons rung and raced will score, the remainder are Sh-te.At the end of the season you will be lucky to count in the one hand the pigeons that have scored over 500 mls.Good luck to all who have the bottle to send and remember somebody in Lanarkshire could just be wintering the 2009 S.N.F.C Winner in their Dookit. If you dont send yae canny win and good luck to all, and the wee guy Fae Bunkle as its no gonny be easy and you have to send to every race and nae excuses gon on holiday.( let the wife go herselve with the wanes) You will be there when she gets back and i can now dae chips. ;) ;)And on another note dont let King Billy kid yae on about the size of his dookit it is 24x12 and it can normally house up to 150 doos. +++ ;) at any wan sitting and there is the Garage. ; :)
  21. Chris this cock is in the 2% good range and is worth buying.Do you know the age of the Cock, what lines he is from and has he been sold.
  22. Joe i have already taken this up with both these guys at panels they have been on and they are quoting 40%.Bear in mind the numbers they keep and off load and ask them to sell you a pre-potent pair.
  23. Shadow Why should we be buying 10 yr old stock pigeons. It goes back to my theory of the 98% Sh-te and how many pre-potent pairs are going around or are for sale.
  24. Phil you are on the right track and i agree with your comments but how many pr-potent pairs are for sell and at 3years old if there is nothing in the loft left why call them stock pigeons. If they are not leaving anything why sell them on to fanciers less unfortunate than ourselves because within another three years these fanciers will leave the sport.
  25. Joe You dont have to buy a book buy a basket and race them and every week at that. You have heard it all they blame,controllers,East/West routes,Winds but the biggest factor is the Sh-te we keep and buy.
