  1. Ben, I will not give you any suggestions as people are either for or against. However myself, I treat annually, firstly with a 14 day treatment followed by a vaccination.
  2. Have to say I Believe thats a load of BS!! Loads of people who get the disease, it starts in the stock loft! When i got it in 2003, i never had an introduction to the stock shed for 9 years, so wasn't from any new introductions. And you very rarely hear of anyone in this area getting it.
  3. yes you are right

    Darkening Old Birds

your old birds need to be placed on the dark by the 21st March, We used to give our darkness old birds 7 hours of daylight 9-4pm. You take them off the dark 3 weeks prior to the race you want them to excel at. We always trained ours when on the 2nd round, however they was always sent to the first race sitting 5-7 day old eggs.
  8. if you go back to july 21st you asked me the same question, and ill give you the same answer - Oxygenates the body - Protects against free radicals damage - Strenghtens the immune system - Purifies and cleanses - Improves bowel functions - Supports a halthy digestion - Protects against oxidative cellular stress - Eliminates Candida - Restores cellular respiration - Improves nervous system - Repares damaged cells and organs - Enhances mitochondria functions - Increases energy

  13. Clive, bare with me ill get back to you!!
  14. yea 100% true, at the time Jimmy Edridge was working for Louis, and he said no one from East London was welcome back, and infact Jimmy nearly lost his job over it! An old racing partner of mine was on the coach, when the old bill pulled them over, and he said there was birds flying round the coach, and birds being let out of the coach as the old bill pulled them over.
  15. Believe they stopped it due to quiet a few fanciers some I know, stealing eggs and pigeons. Resulting in the coach being pulled up by the police, and birds flying everywhere. Surely wasn't good for the sport.
  16. My friend are you forgetting that Shauns father was Peter Pollock, another south african fast bowler!! And even Peter and Grahems Father played cricket for the Orange Free State
  17. i've heard of footballers sons, but NEVER footballers nephews
  18. Bob and Steven live in Epping my friend not bow. Only man near bow was johnny purton but he lived in stepney green, and he had an entire clearance.
  19. Sapper wheres the national winner? Question i would be asking if i was purchasing them, as id be wanting direct. The closest they got is a full brother to the national winner. Take for example, Lionel Messi, he had two brothers both couldnt kick a ball straight, all three of them from the same parent, however not the same abillity.
  20. http://www.europaloft.ca/Documents/The%20Janssen%20Brothers%20of%20Arendonk.pdf above is a very good article on the Janssens, but bakes you have to remember anything with Vos is a Red Cock and anything with Voske is a Red Hen, I believe also similar to the name Rode
  21. grizzle world welcome to the site. But out of interest, if your spending your money wisely, why are you looking for either chocolates and yellows, as winners in these colours are very rare?
  22. are you sure john? What about the Vos! Even in the Janssen book they state in an interview "yes we know. And we have had the most wonderful red pigeons and slaties. But now we breed only few of them. And our reason for breeding blue pigeons and chequers is very simple. They just turned out to be better!" We have therefore, for instance continued with the Bang van 51 line. The latter and many other top pigeons that we have bred are direct or indirect descendants from red pigeons." Later on when questioned when they bred the last good red or mealy they state "in 1960. But later on other fliers have been very successful when breeding with red pigeons which they had bought here" Another quote has to be because ive seen many for sale "Sometimes they even have the nerve to say pigeons which are almost completely white or black are pure Janssens!" Maybe you could also be forgetting the legendary "Wondervoske Van 1945"
  23. regarding the new strain they say they bought the man out, but where is the national winner, all i've seen in there stock is a full brother?
  24. Now breeding is coming along, what do you feel is the best type to use? What do you find is the best nesting material? And any general tips. Myself I like the clay type nest bowl, with a nest felt, and pine needles and tobacco stalks. Also i raise the bowl slightly to allow air flow, however heard that the airluxe nestbowls are class and was considering using them.
