I would say number one is to build the best loft you can that fits your needs, as has been said on here build it MUCH bigger than you figure you want. Most new flyers have a hard time culling pigeons, if you don't cull then soon you will have lots of culls. Next thing is to find a good medication system from someone that flys in your local area, find out what meds they are using and WHY they use them, next and lastly buy the best stock you can afford, I would say never to buy them from someone that sells birds for a living, if they don't flew em then never buy em. And the birds you buy will need to be for the races you fly. For instance it would be a waste of time to buy distance birds if you clubs longest race was 225 miles. Best of luck to you. Ed
