  1. Personally I like Jack Barkells eyesign video.
  2. Very nice looking hen you got there, 13 or not.. Ed
  3. I see and now I understand. If while you are still a novice is there anything that is denied to you? Or is it just a standing thing and one that you want to get off your back as soon as possible. Also is it also for the combines or just clubs. Thanks. Ed
  4. Good job Jim. I am very happy you got him better and released him. Hopefully as you say he is back to his normal life. Not many will take the time to do what you have done. Again good job. Ed
  5. It would depend on if they had been flown or not. If unflown you may still lose some but always start ybs as soon as possible. Ed
  6. I would say number one is to build the best loft you can that fits your needs, as has been said on here build it MUCH bigger than you figure you want. Most new flyers have a hard time culling pigeons, if you don't cull then soon you will have lots of culls. Next thing is to find a good medication system from someone that flys in your local area, find out what meds they are using and WHY they use them, next and lastly buy the best stock you can afford, I would say never to buy them from someone that sells birds for a living, if they don't flew em then never buy em. And the birds you buy will need to be for the races you fly. For instance it would be a waste of time to buy distance birds if you clubs longest race was 225 miles. Best of luck to you. Ed
  7. Jim what you really need my friend is some racers, the common pigeon will just take up the space that a racer will fit in. LOL. Seriously once your started with the racers don't mix the commies in. Your blood line will soon be diminished and all you will have is common pigeons. Ed
  8. Linda you will always have my support in that endeavor. It is my true belief that without programs like these our sport will be gone and forever lost to us. I wish everyone was on board. Later. Ed
  9. I am not sure what breaking my novice means. Is it points you must win or what do you have to do to break it. After you do break it then what? Any replys would be helpful.. Ed :B :B :B
  10. Racers get home on the day from the 400. Homers get home during the week from the same race. As was said its motivation that does the trick. Ed
  11. Eyesign is a Theory and a good one. There are only two colors of eyes, White and Yellow. The green you are seeing is actually yellow. White is sometimes refered to as pearl or violet. Look at the color of the eye UNDER the iris, this will tell you the true color of the eye. I hear the rifles being cock and aimed so fire away guys. Ed
  12. I think most people here in the states seperate sexes and then pair them up again after thanksgiving, in colder climates they wait sometimes up till March to mate up. Ed
  13. Not sure with birds but in human consumption a new vitimin always turns the urine more yellow than normal. Ed
  14. You can do this with just about any reasonable amount of hens, all you have to do is have pumpers (other pairs) together so they lay at the same time and then just transfer the eggs. Many flyers around here do that, so they can have more ybs from their better cock birds.
  15. My friend uses sand and he buys sterilized sand here in town, less than $4 per 50 lb bag. Ed
  16. Test
  17. It should have read "The collected works OF "Old Hand" is a heck of a set of books." Ed
  18. The collected works or "Old Hand" is a heck of a set of books. Ed
  19. Linda Sean will be over with that new scrapper for you.. LOL. Ed
  20. Speed bird this is what I suggest. Look over the race results from whatever distance you care to fly, if its the channel you want then go to whomever it is that has had the best results over the channel in the last few years and try to buy some of the stock of the birds that has flown it. Good luck. Ed
  21. Happy b-day to Ceri and as for you, you had better put a ring on her finger cause its hard to find one that abides by the birds without complaints of some kind. You are one lucky man. Ed
  22. I have used yogurt before but that was before I new about proboactics, I do not use yogurt since then. Ed
  23. You will probably beat them all again at this one. Best of luck. Ed
  24. I personally have used ebay a lot and never had a problem. But like Linda I use paypal and then only with a credit card that has a $500 limit. But ebay has right on there site to only do business with persons or businesses that have lots of good rating.. Beware is always the right way to go. Ed
  25. I must say those are outstanding results no matter how long you been showing. Consider your hand shaken and a job well done. Ed
