  1. Rick Martis from CBS Lofts swears by the light system. I have a tape that he put out that fully discribes what he does. Ed
  2. Thank you Wiley, thats the same answer Craig sent me.. Gotta get mine sent in.. Ed
  3. Not sure if I understand here. Can I send in a picture of both a cock and of a hen or only one picture.
  4. Thanks Tim, Just goes to show ya its never to late to learn.. LOL.. Ed
  5. Linda is also the head of the help a beginner program and has done a lot to improve and enhance our sport. I have known her for many years and have never heard her discourage a newbe in any way she has always bent over backwards to help and advise. It has been my privilege to support her. Ed
  6. Thanks Linda.
  7. Linda does your "corn mill" stock a lot of feed, if I drive down there will they have like 1/2 ton of it? If I drive there I might as well pick up enough of it to last a while. Ed
  8. Sapper756, thats the answer I was looking for... LOL.
  9. I hate to seem dumb here but what is (/b) quality (. Hopefully this isn't a stupid question.. Wait for a reply. Ed [/b]quality
  10. I personally have only seen one with 11 flights, it also flew well but I didn't own it. I have looked for more thrrough the years but with no luck. Ed
  11. Well gal by giving his birds free loft he just invited every hawk in. He actually done you a favor and saved some of your birds.. LOL. Good story Linda. Thanks. Ed
  12. Well Linda I didn't do it intentionally but what the heck if I gotta copy someone then who better than you, the wizard with ybs. You are secretely my idol.. LOL Woops guess its no secret anymore.. In all honesty I bought the Van Reets to help with the speed, as I give up over 40 miles overfly to the concourse and also I am off line over 20 miles. I have to have lots of speed to beat the big guys, and gal you know who those are over here... LOL.. Ed
  13. Its my thoughts you got the best he had, luckily for you anyway.
  14. If your talking about the thin whitish streaks on the outside of the outside tail feathers its natural in almost all blue racing pigeons. Don't worry about them, they won't hurt or help..
  15. I still have two of his hens and one cock with his original bands, but this will be their last year with me, I believe it was always about the $$$$ with him.
  16. Well lets here about it or would you rather discuss it in person.. Hey I forgot to tell ya, I bought two Staff Van Reet cocks at the auction this week end from Frank, I also got one of his Super Crack Crusson Hens. Ed
  17. Now Linda that is danged funny for those in the know... But seriously if I did have one named that I would ring its neck and start over.. :-) Ed
  18. Wow what a question. I believe I would want to buy the winner from the South Africian Race and the winner from the LasVega million dollar race, I would not care what strain they were. Together they would probably make any loft. Now hopefully they would be a yellow eyed cock bird and a white eyed hen.. LOL. Ed
  19. Linda that is a good article and Steve did a great job on it. Was this the same setup you had when I was there. Are you not using the round-a-bout anymore? Later gal. Ed
  20. Lots of peas and salflower, with high protein pellets mixed in. Ed
  21. I will usually name a birds after the person I get the bird from, or if I raise the bird it gets a name only after something spectacular happens, Once I had a yb fly straight threw drop down bobs with a hawk after him. After that the bird was always called trapper.... Ed
  22. I agree with both Wiley and Schouwman71, it totally depends on the bird, in some cases I have retired birds only two years old because I needed it for a breeder. So I guess if your heavy on breeders you could fly the better birds longer. Ed
  23. I believe the defination of small team is the catch here, what maybe small to one flyer is a large number to others, but in answering the question I think the true distance pigeons are better if rested every other week and only raced once every two weeks. So if this way is used then it would take more birds. Ed
  24. I prefer the natural system. Its much easier for me to motivate them without taking the chance of knocking them out of form.
  25. I always thought it was my Janssens, but this year I have acquired so Staff Van Reets and will give them a try. Ed
