  4. Well done Derek and all timers. lots of races this weekend and some well in in them all.
  5. Great season for you George. Keep boxing away and you'll win the fight.
  6. Well done.
  7. They will become used to you especially if their section is on the small side. I like non-flighty pigeons, so would give them a titbit while talking to them when you are in the loft. Just feed normally, you don't want them fat. They only need extra when rearing bigger YB's.
  8. 182 pigeons liberated from Arbroath by Ayrshire North Road Federation at 7.00. into a South West wind. Good luck all.
  9. Good morning all.
  10. Well done George timing from France for the first time. I hope to do the same someday. Congratulations to Lanarkshire Federation for organising this race at short notice, but more so, for showing that Federations are still able to race from France. It is about time that we gave our pigeons a chance to gain early education in this sort of race. Surely those in positions of authority are able to come together and talk this through. Joint convoying, at the very least, and joint liberation at best to allow our younger pigeons to gain experience racing to the West of Scotland without being dragged all over the country. Come on Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire, Midland and whomever else qualifies, start talking now, so it is set up for next year 2016 season.
  11. Well done all.
  12. Best of luck all.
  13. Best of luck to all.
  14. Excellent!!! Hope some more make it in today.

  19. Never having "raced" past 290 miles, but I would say early liberation and an attempt at a one day race would be best. The dogged determination of the pigeons flying for all these hours to reach home is absolutely amazing. It cannot however be denied that to rise the following morning and start to do it all again shows an equal merit of dogged determination, sore muscles and aching bones do not deter these pigeons. It is yet a different test for them. To deliberately liberate later in the day in order to force a two day race means that a different type of pigeon is able to come to the fore. One that cannot fly for 12 to 16 hours without break, but does have the determination to rise and do it all again. Some rise earlier than others, some have the ability to fly longer than others, it all depends on the particular virtue that the fancier is seeking when he becomes the breeder of his racing pigeon.
  20. Good morning all.
  21. Good luck to all.
  22. Cheaper than Blackie's beer and trainers. :D
