  1. Great flying Paul.
  2. Due to rain the pigeons were moved from Fraserburgh to Portlethen. 111 pigeons were liberated at 7.00 in no wind changing to WSW on route. Best of luck all.
  3. Good morning all.
  4. Well done Davie.
  5. One reported in Norway is all I've heard so far.
  6. 2 Cumnock fanciers sent 18 pigeons, 2 Mauchline fanciers sent 12 pigeons and 10 Valley fanciers sent 81 pigeons. 14 Federation members sent 111 pigeons to Fraserburgh. Best of luck everyone.
  7. Well done.
  8. Well done all.
  9. I race from there down and across country to Ayrshire so I know exactly what you are talking about. Quite apart from our feathered terrors in the sky, the weather make a massive difference to pigeon racing. When you have mountains and high hills like we have in Scotland, some areas develop their own climate, sea haar and mountain mist, etc.
  10. Best of luck all.
  11. Dependent on weather conditions you should get a race up to 700 miles or so, but after that it becomes more of a marathon. It depends on what you consider to be a race. Sprinting where the start and finish are essential, mid distance where you are still able to have batches arrive, distance where they are strung out a bit more, but still arriving regularly or marathon where they are extremely strung out. All are still races, but it depends on just what you are looking for in a pigeon.
  12. Good afternoon all.
  13. Good luck all.
  14. When I started back 7 years ago after being away for nearly 40 years, it was quite a shock. I was a lot younger then, but it seems there is so much more politics and arguing now. It may have been there all those years ago, but I was not aware of it.
  15. Well done Austin. Good to know they are still out there working hard to return home.
  16. My grandfather fought in this war and he lost his brother in one of the battles. I am sure many of us know the debt of gratitude we owe to our forebears. It is incumbent on us to ensure that our children and grandchildren also become aware of the sacrifice made by those who were involved in this and the following war. They took part and the overall hope was that it would be a war to end all wars. Let us hope we reach that utopian state of a world without war. Only by learning from the lessons of the past will this ever be achieved. WE CAN NEVER FORGET THEM. We will remember them.
  17. Good afternoon all. Been busy with kids this morning.
  18. Happy birthday Paul.
