  1. Good afternoon all.
  2. Better with no talk.
  3. Well done. No result, unless just Tam clocked.
  4. Very difficult when you are looking for any negative slant you are able to find or think you are able to find. Lanarkshire Federation will operate their own programme for the full season. AS PART OF THIS PROGRAMME they will hopefully chose to go to the selected WRC races. For these selected WRC races, Lanarkshire Federation will mark centrally at Newhouse in a modern, covered, roomy marking station with full facilities for the fanciers and where the transporter can be loaded under cover and in front of the members. This seems like a no brainer to me. No longer will their pigeons be pulled all over the whole country by a predominantly larger entry from the East of Scotland because these races will not be National races. Their pigeons will have the opportunity to find a better line into the West of Scotland. Further, for those with National aspirations, this experience will stand them in good stead because of the likelihood of having more pigeons with that experience, being able to perform better within the National races. Where is the catch? Lanarkshire Federation will open these WRC races to include all fanciers in the West Region and allow them onto their transport for these races.
  5. Good morning all.
  6. Well done.
  7. Well done.
  8. Racing at this time of year is sheer madness. Nature dictates that there should be plenty of food for the young of any species, so they breed to ensure their young will be around t this time. Peregrines and other BOP are part of nature and they have adapted to fledge their young when food is bountiful. Racing young pigeons to give them an education of what? That they are top of the menu. Mick Currie stated that there were peregrine nests every 10 miles in his area. Bad enough when the old birds are being attacked every 10 miles, but our young birds are being attacked every 10 miles by at least 3 times the amount of peregrines and often more. If we keep doing the same thing, we will keep getting the same results. Breed later and race young birds over shorter distances during October and November and educate them without the volume of peril that there is during late July and August. These months are usually quite fair given the current climate and climate change.
  9. Well done. Sky to yourself, peregrines having a field day?
  10. Thought I had already posted this. Sorry for the delay.
  11. Good luck all.
