    Joke

My mate just hired an Eastern European cleaner, took her 5 hours to Hoover the house. Turns out she was a Slovak. Just got back from my mate's funeral. He died after being hit on the head with a tennis ball. It was a lovely service.

  21. Andy, our combines go to Berwick, Stonehaven, Arbroath & Thurso. These race points were chosen many years ago simply because the pigeons were transported by rail and as the above locations were major fishing ports at the time. They had sizable goods yards to accommodate large liberations and as the train timetables were round the clock enabling night time travel. Bar Thurso these liberation sites sit tight on the east coast and any east in the wind brings in the sea mist which spells trouble, if a strong west wind they're pushed out to sea. Why cant we go to liberation sites a few miles inland? I asked once at a combine meeting and was told the prestige of winning out of Berwick/Stonehaven/Arbroath was the reason why we continued with these racepoints................. seems prestige to some is more important than the welfare of our pigeons! This is just one of the many gripes I have with the way our combines are run.
  22. There's nothing more pleasing than getting a good day bird out of Thurso. It's a shame Bernie that due to the recent track records of the Essex & London Combines and losses incurred throughout the year peeps just aren't going to chance another smash. The said two combines are going to have to have a major rethink on how they operate if they want to save combine racing in the southeast. Why do they have to stick to the coast? why not move inland? Why cant basketing be put back if the weather forecast tells us there's no chance of a lib? Lets try something different before its to late!
