    Racing Yearlings

As Wiley, have them paired up for the first race or two then put them on w/hood. I say this because we seem to get a run of N/Easterly winds early on in the race season, yearlings are best left at home on these days.

If you want a couple of pair of y/birds next year to help to get you started drop me a PM, Best of luck
  20. If you put any type of mixture in one of these you'll find they'll scatter more food on the loft floor than they actually eat. Best used with single grains but still not ideal.
  21. Personally I don't think it makes any difference at all. A daft fact: Owls are the only birds that can see the colour blue!
  22. The so called professionals in the game know a lot of pigeons can be sold on the strength of young bird results. I might be looking at it wrong but for me 1 old bird win is equal to that of 2 young bird wins. If I had a magic wand I'd put a system in place that would reflect this, maybe double the amount of points for old birds that score. Yes too much emphasis is put on young bird racing.

    Feeding Yb

Can you see them exercising or do they go away for an hour then return? If they come and go theres nothing to worry about but if they disappear for the hour they could be fielding then consequently you may have a problem.
  24. You may not be racing old birds next year but you should turn up on marking nights. Show them your willing to do your bit and whilst there put as many pigeons through as you can. By handling these pigeons you'll get a feel of type, condition, racing weight etc. taking note of the feel of the top flyers pigeons.
  25. Had a stinker, 33/40 home
