Have just started ringing the youngsters this week.

As it stands Paul a newly formed club has to apply to their local region (talking RPRA) who in turn advertises it in the pigeon papers stating any objections must be received in writing to the regions secretary. Similar should apply for individuals wishing to join a club, anyone objecting should put the reason as to why in writing. No need to advertise this, just inform the members of the agenda for the next club meeting.

A few days ago I was having some work done at my local garage when a blonde came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten. We all looked at each other and another customer asked, 'What is a seven-hundred-ten?' She replied, 'You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine, I have lost it and need a new one.' She replied that she did not know exactly what it was, but this piece had always been there. The mechanic gave her a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to a car just like hers which had its hood up and asked, 'Is there a 710 on this car?' The unions must get together and get a PR firm on their books. We need a professional outfit to highlight the good work that is/has been done re donations to charitable causes. We have to dispel myths held by the general public, we have to highlight the destruction BOP are causing not just our pigeons but to the wild birds too. We could place clever adverts in daily papers and maybe go back to placing results in them as well. We need to open doors!

IMO your best to target the comeback races in the 2nd half of the old bird season. This is the time fanciers start splitting their teams to compete at the longer races. By doing so many w/hood fliers shoot themselves in the foot by disrupting the day to day routine resulting in a loss of form. Twin this with them not sending full strength teams may swing the pendulum somewhat in your favour. Do the reverse of what their doing, set yours up for the shorter races.

In this weeks pigeon mags, fill it in & send it off. Yeah! doubt it will make the slightest bit of difference but to do nothing is a bigger crime.
