  14. got this on site mail Jilly Coleman jilly.coleman@btinternet.com01:56 (18 hours ago) We have had NWHU 2010 N5884 and Red race band number - 2032 in our garden since Sunday 27th May 2012 late afternoon, so just over 3 days now. He does not appear injured, but he fell out of our tree and proceeded to walk around the garden unsteadily. We thought it might be a very young pigeon separated from parents, but soon realised it certainly was not our usual wood pigeons and that the poor mite looked like he/she was suffering from exhaustion! We just about managed to read the ring on his leg after following him around the garden on all fours with our glasses on!!!! He has not been handled, but enjoys being near us. I left a message with the NWHU on Monday reporting this very beautiful bird, but with no response. He feeds several times a day with a selection of wild bird food mix (which he seems to prefer)and white rice, sweetcorn, peas, rolled oats and sesame seeds (I found this suggestion on line) and a big bowl of water. I will not contain him as yet in case he is just recovering and wants to move on, but as the days are continuing - he won't let me nearer than a foot away. He just seems happy to eat/drink on the ground and then fly up to our roof or next door roof and watch all the wild birds that visit my garden all day long. If the owner does not want this bird - I need to find a suitable rescue home for him and will need suggestions please!!! I would like to know from the owner what he will do with this gorgeous character if he does wants him back, before handing him over, after reading some awful stories online. Please phone Allan or Jilly on 07977 001 031 We live near Radlett, Hertfordshire. I have been given a phone number from the RPRA of someone who lives close in Watford - who might help out. I have again left a message, but had again no response. Jilly
