Raymond timed a de klak widowhood hen with over 10,000 birds in the race, the nice thing is it was the same way bred as a bird that we were offering for sale in last weeks BHW for £100each. Nice to know that they can win!!!! Stuart

Anybody know a Steve Robson from the Telford (01952) Area? Regards Stuart Wilcox

Its true Bruno, most pigeons that are sent to nationals are pigeon that have already won. Stuart
-
"Its the big national next saturday" When i was a kid everybody sent there best and only there best to 1 or 2 Nationals every year and the winners would be remembered for ever as was the winning pigeon. Now we seem to have more national races than club races in England and Scotland. Stuart

Hello Slugmonkey, i always try and sell the best available and the koopman cock was specail and the purchaser couldnt beleive his luck. I also sold a jan Aarden cock from Lucien Van Zoomeroon which was son of 7th Nat Perpignan. On Staurday Lucien was 1st nat bordeaux with a bird from the same breeding!! Good blood always counts. Stuart
-
Andrew Did you sell any of the above pigeons? Stuart
-
I have some race birds available at £25 each as my partner is moving to Australia.

Its funny as an Englishmen(with a bit of Welsh) im proud to be British and when i say British i mean im proud to be in Union with Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland. It saddens me to hear such racist abuse coming from North of the border esp when most of the Scots ive met have been such fine people!!!!! But its all too easy to say such stupid remarks when sat behind a computor!! Stuart
-
If he has been flying well on widowhood then leave him on Widowhood!!!! Repairing can work but 9 out 10 times the cock goes off the boil unless you get him a big young one. Stuart

Last year i recieved a phone call from a very well known and successful long distance fancier, he wanted to buy some of Raymond Molevelds pigeons. I told him that we would be recieving a ship in the next couple of days and that he could come and pick his own as his record on the road was much better than mine. He came and i proceded to pick out maybe 10 pigeons. On each a occasion he opened the wing and muttered perfect, oh yes, thats what im looking for! He put every pigeon in his basket. By mistake i picked up a small janssen hen and handed it too him and within secounds he said this isnt the same. He didnt look at there eye, there *expletive removed* or there pedigree only the wing and went away very happy. I was a little confused!! Stuart

The Quarry Janssen man is Alan Bayliss, a very very good freind of mine too! Stuart
-
The last man in scotland that comes even close to Wayne Rooney was a man William Wallace and that was 500 years ago.

I flag my cocks for the first 3 weeks so that they understand that flying time is exactly that, flying time. But once they have been 200 miles + they can do what they like and ive found that when the birds put really big performances they dont over fly the week before hence storing more energy. In fact i know when they are spot on as they are all over the roof tops. I had the birds ranging for hours like comandos in the sky but for middle to long distance flying they are burning to much fat! I noticed the following over the years. that smaller widowhood cocks fly and exercise alot harder around the loft than the big sprint cocks. Try seperating your young birds and letting the young cocks out with your widowhoods, they will love it. Stuart
-
You will never do any good with mice in the loft. Tip! Put a cocrete slab down then put a single run of Blocks round and sit your loft on that and rather than a wooden floor put grills!!!! The mice will be easier to keep out of the loft and if they do get in they will be away from the birds until you poisen them. Stuart

Im Hoping to build a 27 x 7 widowhood loft for 36 cocks (12 are yearlings) 18 x 7 loft for young (70yb) and them an avairy loft 24 x 6 for Hens and stock, i may also nock up a little 5ft x 6ft Avairy between the yb loft and old bird loft for 20 late ones!!! A guess this would be classed as big? Stuart

Hello Mate The Following rules may help you! His results means that the starting price would be £400. (Minimum) If he has a good detailed pedigree then £450. If he is of 100% breeding from one family (ie pure) thats £500. Things like copies of his results, distance flown and popularity of its family may all add to its price. I would add that if this pigeons has bred winners then the price above could at least double. My advice would be for such a pigeon is get a good photo done of him first as people want to see what there buying and the quality involved. Regards Stuart.

some young still available from the above pigeons priced at £50 each!!Bargain Stuart

My partner in Holland Raymond Moleveld rang me on monday full of excitment. One of his satelite racing lofts had won 5ft against 40174 pigeons in a hard east wind. I congratulated him and then i sat back and thought of the glory of winning such a race with such high birdages. Yet in reality even though we have twice the number of fanciers we dont have such an event in the UK, what a shame!!!!!! It some times makes me a little jealous. Can we not use Pigeon Basics as a platform to organise a Blue Chip Race once a year? Maybe one to cover the south coast to Manchester including wales (lets say Nantes) and one from Manchester up including all of Scotland, and N Ireland. (lets say Piccauville). All birds to be marked at clubs and brought to a meeting place by the feds and transported to the race point. We could call it the United Kingdom Grand National!!!!!!! Happy Days Stuart

Mike Have you treid birds from Mark Pearson at cosworth stud??????????? Stuart
