Hello Mate My partner is moving to Aus so he is selling off his 1/2 of the birds the race team have been pushed to there limits this year flying 400 miles to the north and then 400 miles to the south and winning well on both fronts, by that i mean the same pigeons flow north and south in the same season. they are Janssens and Wildermesch and my partner Paul Stevens has been a very good flyer. Bobby and his son Martin were some of the best distance flyers this country has ever seen and the quality of there birds were imense. Bobby was kind enough to gift me 3 or 4 birds when i was a small boy and they set me on the road to success esp the old red cock which was from his Combine winning red hen. Also a dark w/f cock which bred Champion 212. Martin told me he still has his fathers old family but the hawks have made it almost impossible to even let the birds exercise around the loft. I owe a great deal of gratitude to the Adair family and i only hope Martin gets a chance to follow the steps of his father as im sure the old family he houses in one of the finest Cumbria has ever seen for the long end. Sorry Chris but the first time i have to disagree. A race from Penzance would mean that 99% of pigeon fanciers could send there birds, only the cornish guys in sect D who send very low amounts of birds wouldnt be able to send. Whats more a race from the Isle of Wight wouldnt be much good for the Cornish lads either. Pigeon fanciers in the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton have been some of the most loyal the National Flying have so again they have turned there back on the Fanciers that support them every year without fail. I have left 5 Gaby Van Den Abeeles, all blue, blue w/f young birds left they are absolute beuties!!! Herbie Allen had a famous pigeon called 09! He was a super pigeon and won 9 x 1sts plus 1000's in National races. 09 won his last race at 9 years old from Nantes!!! Funny thing is he never bred anything!! Stuart
