Just out of interest the best long distance racing pigeon in Holland today is the Toon, he has spent the last year mated to a sister to Raymond Blauwe Bertus amongst other hens, he is breeding them to. The second picture is typical of the Volkens/Bonte Koppel Aardens

676 is a dark pie cock called Don Leo, a pigeon i believe to be one of the best breeders alive in Holland today, a super pigeon. The second picture is of a pair of Aardens that is more famous in Holland than the Dolle, Smaragd, etc etc its the Bonte Koppel of Nico Volkens, he is the best distance flyer in Holland bar none. They are both bred by Sam De Jong.

The pigeon i showed you was a racing cock that won 1st against 37,239b at 660 miles, he was fast because he had flown through darkness. Most of my racing birds have an eye like the first and the breeders closer to the second. Whats your view on this eye??

Have you noticed how the seagulls and even buzzards try to keep the flocks of pigeons off the buildings so that the peregrine can have a strike and when they fall they dive down and scavenge that dead bird.
