Jan Aardens Raymond Moleveld has a super auction of his very good Jan Aardens and Doncaster on Saturday, these birds are in super condition and there is some real stars in the making, some lovely eyed pigeons as well. They will knock your socks off these. Bred around the De Tovenaar and De Lightenberg these lines have won well for me, Raymond and lots of Fanciers across the UK including a number of PB members. Starting bids will be from £40 a bird so if you fancy placing a commision bid feel free. Geoff Kirkland had 8 ybs last year from this line 6 have flown the channel, one winning 4th open and another won Over a £1000. Geoff tells me they are the most exciting pigeons he has introduced for years. Regards Stuart Wilcox

Glad your staying Tony W, you stand up for what you believe and where your heart on your sleeve nowt wrong with that.

The sale went very very well. The birds avaraged £170 plus each and a few Grizzles went for upto £400. The birds really looked the part and its was nice to see both buyer and seller enjoy the event. I have already managed to book Aad Van Berkel into next years Telford show. Interesting that five x 1st National winners purchased birds including C Lloyd, N Templer, Gary Summers, Crowley & Green etc so in my mind these are going to do some winning now there in the right hands. But all in all as the auctioneer i really enjoy it and the bunters seemed well happy that is was a fair ran auction. Stuart

The reasons the birds were kept in was all those tests were done and more, and the results took a while to come back.

Bigda they were first offered here only due to my contacts, the Dutch Fanciers wont even be aware of them until next week. A few people are putting there angle on this and blowing it out pf proportion. So for the last time, i heard these pigeons were going to offered for sale, Raymond who was Loft manager at the race looked at them and said they were in lovely health and condition so i posted the thread to give pb members access to a good deal.

Tony W i dont really know what the virus was and i draw a comparison to ybs as we also know little about that too. But what i do know is tests were done on all birds and invected pigeons were removed and they were tested again before they were allowed there freedom so the government donw a pretty thorough job. The 1st to to 200 placed birds were sold on an Open Auction on the Internet and pigeons from that sale went to Ireland, England, Holland, Germany and Belguim. TonyW was that sale also wrong as not one single person complained about that?? What i wrote didnt actually apply to you it was aimed at the person who said these birds didnt go to the race!!!!!!!!!!

Lads there is nothing wrong with asking questions, im all for it just dont make statements that are incorrect. The fact is all One Loft Races are effected by high levels of invection, and in the Dutch Open Loft the government imposed a restriction of 8-12 weeks, try telling an government offical what YBS is. This ment the following; 1) The pigeons were not let out untill 3 months old and flyaway numbers were high. 2) They Held little local knowledge when training commenced. 3) They were jumped in Training as the last race had to take place before the weather changed and loses were high. 4) With all this they completed the 350km Final Race. These birds have already shown, Strength, Resistance and Homing Ability!! Speed they didnt hence the reason they finished outside the top 200. They are in perfect health and condition and they were for sale at £20 each!! I say were as they are going very fast.

Roland, i will again state that the birds that i offered finished from 201st to 400th in the final race. I get the feeling i will end today again wishing i never bothered. I dont know Pigeon Basics is a funny place!

The pigeons that remained were tested, and tested clear, they were neither invected or were they carriers and that happened 6 months ago and since then the pigeons have been vigourously trained and raced and may i add under the watchfull eye of government vets they showed no sign of stress at all. What happened to the Dutch Open has happened to many one loft races where you have a high number of young, the difference is the government became involved and quaritined all the birds not because it was some Super Specail Virus but because thats what they do with all sick livestock. Tony W as i told you all the pigeons that remain have been tested, trained and raced. The 1st to 200th have already been sold without a problem, i have merely given the members of Pigeon Basics the chance to buy some of the 200th - 400th birds are they are sat in the Dutch Open Loft eating corn and some of them are real beauties.

The Silver Shadow Van Loon have around 25% Tournier in them, they are Based around Silver Shadow, Silverman, Silver Bullet, Silver Star and Silver Boy. Aad Van Berkel bred and raced all of these and in the 90' Silver Shadow, Man and Bullet moved to Eijerkamps. They are super nice pigeons.

Hi Pigeonscout The young bird type virus was contacted by one section right at the start and those birds were culled by order of the dutch government and they then ordered a period of isolation and a test for the remaining birds. The that start training were tested clear and fit and healthy. The birds now look out of this world.

For Any Chelsea fans there are a dozen Italian Birds including some darks and grizzles, these are from Carbanarra who enters lots of Races around the world and does well some have pedigrees, these are really smart birds and again are available £20-25 a pigeon. Thats something to get the lads down the club chatting when they see them in your stock loft ;D
-
Joe61 They can be sold in both countries and probaly will but when the guys told me about them i thought it would be something nice to offer the lads on PB as to me they are priced just right considering it hard times at the moment. I have many friends and customers on this site so when i see something that may benefit those people then why not!!! P.S. Im not actually making anything on these birds just helping out.

The best pigeons are those that are tried and tested and based on results, to me all colours can win however if pigeons are bred from due to there colour and colour alone and not there ability to race your chances of winning with such lines are reduced. A guy in our town won the 1st Open Pau NFC in 1966 with a bird called White Willy.

They will come with a Vaccination Certificate if required. Carriage will be from Bristol so that starts at £30 i think for a single bird and goes up. Chris i have tried to keep the cost down on these so they will be sent over as required plus im a racing loft and dont have the room to keep 100's. This way is the easiest for me.

Well Vic some people try to be open and honest and do the best for people, i would like to think i fall into that category. Stuart

We have deliveries every Tuesday and Friday so as soon as the cheques have clear they will be sent out. Stuart

I think i probaly have the ability to select those that would stay on the wing and Raymond defo can, besides Raymond will know some of the owners and the ruff origin of the birds but i suppose it will be a bit pot luck but should be able to manage it.

You will have ring cards so yes they can be transfered. Some 650 birds made it to the last race. There are some nice looking brids probaly 80% are Janssen, Koopman, Van Loon types and 20% Dutch tranditional distance. Stuart
