Did it have a race ring on it? That looks like one of our numbers.
  6. Decided to enter the older birds and leave the yearlings home, that way it will only knock me back 1 year if all goes titso and not 2 years. Stuart
  7. I have a cock at a none fanciers in Penn Common Wolverhampton, could anyone collect the bird for me? Its from last weeks National Race. Stuart
  8. This is quite an important weekend for my distance pigeons as i have entered 16 in the CSCFC St Nazaire race which is 300 miles, this will be there final stepping stone to Tarbes. Having checked the forecast there are upto 28 miles an hour east winds in the Channel and being that St Nazaire is already way to the right of France it spells a disatstor to me. What do you think, do i hold the main of them and yearlings to the National from St Nazaire next week. Stuart
  9. This is Golden Girl, bed and raced by R Moleveld 1st NPO St Quentin 11,236b as a yearling.

  13. There home, he was my 2nd bird about 20 secounds behind the other White Flight, thankfully it wasnt my day, both of em came right out the east. Stuart
  14. I would like to thank Sid Barkel for taking the time to call me this morning to discuss the marking of “37â€. As far as im concerned the matter is closed however I will say to others that if you decide to take a senior position in such a prestigious organization as the National Flying Club understand that its members would expect you to act and communicate in an appropriate, professional and polite manner when dealing them, as a minimum. Good luck to everyone today. Stuart Wilcox
  15. Hi lads Thanks for the kind remarks. We know the bird was in the basket as myself and Nigel Templer spent a couple of minutes talking about him and what his chances were. He is an ugly bugger so i dont think anyone would pick him out of a crowd. Stuart
  16. Cheers jam!!! It will be a funny day for sure
  17. Gutted before I’ve even started. I work, so my National pigeons were taken to the marking station by another fancier, so tonight I collected my marking sheet and to my horror I discovered that only 11 of the 12 pigeons had been marked. I scanned the list and discovered that 07 T 29437 a blue w/f had not been recorded on the ets sheet, this pigeon was heavily pooled and has a racing record 2nd to none including being 1st Ace pigeon in the WOESRC and 3 times in the top 10 from 5000 plus pigeons. I quickly realized that not much could be done, I know the guys that would have marked him and they are good people and im sure it was just an error. I was unsure what to do so I phoned the sect of NFC but I received a answer machine so I phoned the chairman as I wanted to explain what happened and see if it was possible to change my pools, plus I didn’t want to ask for my money back without notifying someone at the first instance. I explained to chairman what happen in a calm manor, yet his attitude and response was not only in bad taste but disgraceful, his words were “why should I waste time on something which is clearly your fault†followed by “ok let me rephrase that I cant do anything and doubt there is anything to do about itâ€. As I pointed out as a minimum I should receive a refund for the pools and entry as I did provide a race entry sheet with 12 pigeons and pools. From the start to finish his attitude and general approach was appalling. Whilst I accept that it was a mistake maybe if the chairman would have benefitted from a slightly more professional and articulate approach. Our telephone ended on a very sour note. As for me, I will spend tomorrow hoping that the best pigeon I have ever owned doesn’t turn first and bring tears to my eyes. Regards Stuart Wilcox
  18. J & T Ellis of Bristol have had vanhee pigeons for years and have scored in National races right up to Palamos, first auction i ever went to in Blackpool as a boy Jos purchased a son of Napolean for over £1000 back in those days. Stu
  19. So the both the parents of that good hen are g-children of Aad Van Berkels Silver Bullet, its amazing how many winners are bred down from the Silver Brothers, Shadow, Bullet, Boy, Man etc both through Berkel and Eijerkamp. Stu

  24. Thanks for the pm Roland. This is just one reason why this is such a great and consuming sport, its questions questions and questions and it can be a lonely back yard when you dont have the answer, yet often the answer lie in our little feathered friends who spend much less time worrying than we do. Stuart
  25. Hey Taff Joner still filling at 14 years old, sat on a pair now, not bad for a cock who had 20 plus channel races and has been moved about a bit. Stuart
