Blaz thats hapened to me 3 times with my YB's so far and am 12 birds down from it, also got 3 birds showing where they got hit! My last hope is to sell my family of Van Reets and try some more plain coloured birds in the hope it helps over the countryside that we have to fly the birds over. If that doesn't work and these campaigns come to nothing then I will be doing a whole lot more fishing instead

Going back a few years ago I had 6 youngbirds in one evening and an old hen that had been lost weeks before the YB's from the same fancier. They even gave me a box of goodies when he came to fetch them.

Heres hoping you get most if not all them back Pete! Got to say your in an ever growing club though! Had quite a few hawk attacks on my birds and down to 22 from the original 34 youngsters I started with and 3 of them show the scars of a very lucky escape. Old birds was no different, from the 16 cocks we had to race we lost one racing and 6, all one at a time from training tosses of no more than 30 miles. There isn't a fancier in this area that hasn't had a caning through this, this season and its not going to get better on its own so come on everyone that reads these tails of woe, sign the song bird petition! It might be our only hope we have to highlight our difficulties

What you should actually have posted is you had been let down by TWO Lofts or studs if thats the case, Nationality has got nothing to do with it and could be seen as incitement and racist comment and for such you can be prosecuted thesedays quite easily

Shows how daft and gulible a fair percentage of the British public is if you ask me! Can't see further than the end of their own noses or don't want to. One point of fact is why are pest controlers allowed licences to remove Lesser Black Backed gull's nests with eggs and chicks in? Hardly anyone of these so called "know-it-all's" bats an eye lid then as they dont like sea gulls they claim they are a menace, yet those gulls still have the same right to be here as their precious hawks and are infact an amber alert species on the endangered species list.
