I am 100% with you on this, but there is only one flaw: Your birds may have the greatest of immunity in your loft, but mix them with mine which have the greatest of immunity in my loft and both our birds wil get sick! Skull
-
So it is safe to say that this wil also happen with the good bacteria? Skull
-
This is exactly my view of the situation. 15years ago i didnt even know of Probiotics for humans, what to say for pigeons. The birds flew then without it, why not now? The use of meds imo must have made the good bacteria even stronger aswell.
-
When the test was done and the meds given, a. Would all the bad bacteria be gone? b. Would all the good bacteria be gone aswell? Skull
-
mis-use of any meds, its always said that the bad ones build up an immunity. These bad ones must be the strong ones that survived the treatment with meds, right? My point is then that there must certainly be good bacteria aswell that survives the meds treatment! Skull

I dont want to, i want to know if its possible

Hi all Is it possible to kill all the good bacteria in your birds? If so, with what and how? Skull

Hi all What would you say is the time it takes youngbirds(babys) which you start loftflying for the 1st time to get fit? Does it differ from year to year and/or loft to loft? The reason why i ask this is that mine have been flying for 6 days now and the last 3 days they are flying out of sight from when i open them up until they return after 40min. Skull

Just today i had a look at some peanuts in a health shop, and to be honest i wont even eat them myself! Skull
-
Its the type of oil any oilseed is made up from. Safflower- 1 part Omega 3 to 740 parts Omega 6 Sunflower- 1 to 630 Flaxseed- 5 to 2 Peanuts- 1 to 32 Rape/Canola- 1 to 2 Hemp- 1 to 3 The ultimate feedmix should have a 1 to 1 ratio, but its not easy to get it. Skull
-
Verry informative, the only problem with peanuts that i know of is that it has a bad ratio of Omega 3 and 6 oils. Skull

Popcorn-16% The above mixtures Nutritional value is: Fat:8.68% Prot:12.08% Carbs:60.55% K.Cal:3411 Fibre:3.65% The ratio of Omega 3 and 6 is: 1 to 2. Any comments would be appreciated! Skull

This past breeding season i have mixed Chicken Finishing Pellets with Breeding Mix, 50/50 and added 3kg of Hemp to 25kg of the above mix. The babys grew well and are in good nick at present! Skull

What do u try to ask? Skull
-
100% right! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) Your birds may have the best IMMUNITY in your own loft without MEDS, but come racing season, and you dont treat them with MEDS, for the other birs they mixed with, which even had the greatest IMMUNITY in there own loft, you just wont make it! Every loft has its own IMMUNITY, mix 3 different lofts birds together witout any MEDS for a period and all of them wil be sick in a short time! Skull

Heres a tip for you and every one else! When they are ranging and you want to take them for the 1st toss, fly them as usual that day around the loft, when they enter the loft you dont give them food or water, you basket them and take them 10miles up the road. When you let them go they head straight for home and dont circle and take a lot of time to go home. Why is this? They are used to fly for 1 or 2 hours around the loft and when you just basket them without them flying around like they are used to, they will fly for 1 to 2 hours when you liberate them as this is what they were taught to do every day for weeks. Do this the first 3 or 4 tosses and then you can basket them without flying around the loft at first. YOU WONT BELIEVE THE DIFFERENCE IN TIME, TO GET HOME, IT MAKES! Skull

Hi all I have a problem. Its about a week before my youngsters should be weened from the breeding section and yesterday i noticed that not all is well. Some of the youngsters are limping and 2 are sitting puffed up. All the youngsters are on the ground and they are being fed by whichever cock gets to them first. I suspect salmonella (Parathyphoid), as two of the cocks even limps. Is it safe to give Medpets 4 in 1 in the drinker? Thanks Skull
