IB. I agree again with your views on Magpies. But the reason I feel that these horrid clips should be posted up is to gain public awareness. Ok so the ins and outs are different. But one thing for sure Joe Public would then spout 'Don't care if it happens in nature, nor if magpies are as bad, I don't wish to see it and certainly don't wish to support it'! Further I can't NO LONGER support the RSPB and their B.O.P. campaign to increase this - apparently they are over stocked already - So I will desist from funding of the RSPB and their' promoting this barbaric cruelty'. When anythin touches the wire and on solid ground etc. if you was able to walk bear footed along the wire it would affect you one mite ... like birds sitting on pylon wires etc. but once the wire has ground contact it becomes live.

Take some shears / large sissors and cut the top four inches of stinging nettles. Place the leaves in a large saucepan and gentle heat till a boiling point is reached, and quickly turn down heat and leave to simmer. Make sure of course you have plenty of water in saucepan, and then leave to simmer. then either strain, or use a lid to pout the juice out into another vessel. next day put about 3 inches or so in their water.

Remember a school boy winning a National flying to a rabbit hutch... 4 on top of each other. Another school boy started up, and under Titmus guidance was doing nicely. Two years later, having never raced or traind his birds decided to pack up. Sent the last one to a National, more to get shot of fairly ... first toss, first race it won the national. Great flyer in Derby had nest boxes on poles in a circle in his garden. Was unbeatable. So if I was a competitor I'd be incline to build him a big spacious loft lol ;D ;D

Phara / Samonela would be my first fright. had a lovely pair of grizzles on the trap one day, about 4 weeks old. Dead next day. Then again same pair bred two lovely grizzle youngsters. Ended the same way. Avian Vet reckoned then, that nigh 2 out of three lofts may well have carriers not showing a sign ...

Yes wattle, thousands to go eh! How many pigeons do they need a day to survive? 2 each, and then their youngsters :-/ 1000's. But you know, if we are losing thousands of pigeons, and all these were flavoured nicely, then in that scenario that would equate to thousands less predator's :-/ :-/ Can certainly see how that may well be thought of the way to go ... Just think it's marvellous that 1000's of fanciers don't see it the same way!

Well until Mr Basket has had a fair and thorough chance with good, healthy and conditioned pigeons to sort the chaff out, that is exactly waht you will be doing and have to do. A honest and accruate record is also a must. When starting a new family it is exactly like Frank says. No short cuts for the distance, and a fair bit of disappointments along the way ... Then hopefully a decent set up can then be made a decent start of with what is left and provened. No making excuses, because you will have a few favourite 'Homers' to sort out too, and often along the way. But I firmly believe, that once the New stock is bought in, or stock for a newbie, then that is the only way to play this game. Firm and fair with conditioned birds.... and ruefully rubbing of ones hands when we make mistakes, and / or let our birds down.

Either on feed or in water. Very cost effective compared to the Pigeon stuff. Must be aboiut the same, but at a stronger dose. Just watch the down feathers fall out! Stinging nettles are are so superb. Simmer the top 4 inches of leaves you have cut off and put a 1/3 litre to a litre and watch them perk up. However - like oxudating the water with bubbles - which seems a good idea, it is useless as if you PUT any fluid, water etc. into a blood system them chances of a 'Clot' are very real. And would just do no good any way. has to be induced - if possble - through a natureal way, natural way into the system.

Red Cell for Horses is same, but you have to use less, so very ecomnical.
