It is not often I fail to get a timer Dave BUT it is once too often having ZERO returns from a 300 miler with the SNFC.. Hindsight is a great thing and should have sent them all to Newbury with Almond Valley.
-
Aye, I suppose it would be funny but I am in a murderous mood Dave. Even the dogs are staying out the way and Wee Mary commented on the fact there are worse things happening in the world !! Well, when I asked her to name them she locked herself in the loo..Grrrr.

I am refusing to reply in a coherent way at this particular time but why does thunder, lightening, rain and hailstones fall down on me and no-one else.

Big well done to the men in charge !, I totally agree they should give themselves a clap on the back for keeping out the members who were in the Central, West Lothian and Midland Federations for starting Almond Valley Federation and Forth and Clyde Federation with the archaic voting system employed by the Combine Management Committee.

Lady Luck turned her back on mine and not seen him since saying he was in great nick..

Of course it is or supposed to be because in my day it was published in the Fed programme and it was held for Yearlings only in July after Club racing had terminated usually on the same day as Nantes with the Combine 500 mile race on the second Friday in July. We in our Midland Fed Club were only told on the Friday at race marking and to my mind the Scottish Central Combine has been reduced to a farce BUT then again I am only an old codger who has seen the past and the present. The Scottish Central Combine could and should have been the alternative to the SNFC with the birds racing into the 12 mile radius. The old stalwarts who are no longer with us will be turning in their graves at its destruction.

Midland rings for 2016 only go up to 1211 so I would perhaps be checking the ring number again for ML..

I attempted to add a P.S. after the last post but for reasons beyond my control failed so the rider I attempted was to inform all that I have had many a good winner with Hens feeding their first babies at 6/7 days old and have never had a Cock win in that situation however the following week the Cock has won for me many good races and Hundreds of £s feeding a large youngster and looking at his Hen just so long as its his first youngster of the year. I Derek it aint difficult LOL :emoticon-0136-giggle:

My appologies for not elaborating a bit more regarding two Cocks which are showing a bit of keeness in training, The four Hens this week are always first followed by the two Cocks and I am only counting seconds from first to sixth with others perhaps minutes behind. At present I train my team of 20 once per week with roughly 600 other birds from 25 miles and they are usually all home to me within 5 minutes and the following day I train on my own and are rarely split up from 20 miles. It certainly makes a difference when sitting in the loft and not looking at stooges on a perch bored when on NATURAL Cocks are trying to get into the nests to join the Hen and much more pleasant on the eye as other things are taking place within the colony as well or it certainly feels that way to an old codger like myself. :emoticon-0136-giggle:

Mr Hunter's reply does not really quantify a reply but for the uninitiated "When on NATURAL you endeavour to have the birds kept as near to NATURAL as possible" This does not include shoving dummy eggs under them which I am sure they know the difference, and substitute babies were being provided should I require them from a friend. The birds can and will sit for longer periods and come to their own decision on leaving and returning to nest for another round. Just for you John I am sending 2 Hens which have sat and hatched naturally and 2 hens which have sat and been given chipping eggs which have hatched out within hours of being given them and goodness me they are as keen as mustard.. The clock time will tell if they are good enough.

With 4 Hens feeding a 7 day youngster on Thursday this will be my entry for the National from Buckingham. It did cross my mind to send all that were available but not being a mob flier that thought was extremely fleeting. The 4 Hens are well rounded and have covered over 500 miles racing and training in the past 20 days which should see them put a performance in for this 300 miler as they are fit and feeding their first young for the year which should give them the incentive to race home. I have noticed thanks to the ETS system that 2 Cocks paired to two of the Hens above have been coming to the front and may join the 4 on the entry sheet but will gauge their reaction when the hens are basketed although they never leave the nest box and cover the youngster when I remove the Hen so obviously are keen on them, They too have completed the same mileage as the hens... Just as an extraordinary circumstance,, the 4 youngsters came from two nests that were not supposed to hatch and chipped out after 22 days incubation, AYE,, I am still trying to get my head round that one..

Finished up last week with 13 from 13 which is a first this season. Started training 20 this week and all went well until Friday which saw me puggled in the 32 C heat and sitting in the garden noticed that even the wild birds did not want to fly as normal.. On entering the loft yesterday afternoon found young dead in the nest and could only put it down to the heat as even the drinkers were empty although each would normally have half a litre still remaining so decided after taking consultation with my conscience to keep the birds at home this week-end. To-day Saturday the local lads have had the misfortune of very gappy returns which may affect their entries in next weeks National..Should the weather improve a bit I will resume training from the 25 mile mark for a couple of days with the 2 year olds and stop the Yearlings which have completed the almost 200 mile mark and put past for next year.

Same as last week Andy 1456 with an early lib and S/E wind.

I saw the Weather Forecast on the BBC to-night Walter and to be perfectly honest They have not reported a correct forecast in memory covering the whole U.K. So I might take it with a pinch of salt Plus in Tiger looking after the birds they could not be in safer hands..

Many Happy Returns Lindsay.

With the first Nat the following Thursday I think I will be leaving them at home this week-end. But, I may send a Yearling with A/V Yearling Open Race as it has been set up for it.

Here was me thinking you were learned but apparently not.. When Mrs May was Secretary of State her hands were tied with EU legislation and we as part of the EU could not refuse to accept any coming from Euro countries so where did the Asians and Arabs go first EUROPE then shunted themselves over here..

Anyone who watched the programne "The Three Girls" last Tues,Wed and Thur on BBC1 would understand what this country has become where we are all Racists if we denigrate Asians in any way either through thought or verbal where the Asian can and do get away with all types of complaints plainly by playing the racist card. The programne was the factual account regarding the grooming and sex trafficking in Rochdale of white girls from 13 years of age and Social Services were aware yet did nothing and those who did were shunted off with redundancy. I could state experiences I have encountered as a Taxi driver with them and am certainly not voting SNP to encourage them into our Country with their open door policy and Local Councils having to keep free 50 Council Properties at all times to accomodate immigrants. Call me racist if you wish but those are facts as told to me by a Senior SNP politician who also does not agree with Policies handed down from Edinburgh. A couple of hours ago I was told a bus load of Asian Families were delivered into Falkirk late last night and dispersed by Social Services in the early hours of this morning to all airts and pairts..
