  1. Belongs to Dave Sayers (Thanks Tommy!) Sorry - sent you a message with phone number
  2. It depends - the e-mails can be accessed outside the office So usually when we have a combine/NEHU race someone will answer an e-mail on a weekend If you don't want to report the bird - then e-mail nehu@nehu.co.uk Opening hours - 9.30am - 4.30pm
  3. Report direct - and get an e-mail with owners details http://www.nehu.co.uk/reportstraynehu.asp I haven't got a 2017 handbook It's East Cleveland Federation
  4. Up North Combine - Oakham Groups 1 & 4 @ 7.50am Groups 3 & 5 @ 8.10am Group 6 @ 8.30am Sorry it's late - I've 5 to come
  5. I'm lost for words
  6. It has an ETS ring on with a telephone number sticker on it
  7. Onto the feed - smells a bit like 'strong' yoghurt crossed with beer You only need 5ml to a kilo of corn - a little goes a long way, I use it almost every day - about 5 times a week - and a bottle lasts me several months
  8. Yep - missing in action from Eastbourne
  9. 20,477 birds liberated at 9.30am (today - Sunday 13th) Wind is NW
  10. Eastbourne at 10.00am - would you have libbed?
  11. UNC Heldover at Eastbourne
  12. They'll be fine at the same race point - not so fine if they're liberated as we're crossing their path from Eastbourne!
  13. The actual number has been announced - we were all way out - it was much less than I thought - only 2 organisations taking part - UNC and Durham Combine If I find a video of the liberation I'll provide a link
  14. Back to the drawing board for my guess then 30,500 birds
  15. Up North Combine West Durham Amalgamation Durham Combine and New North Amalgamation - all up together, scheduled for Saturday 12th - but Weather forecast a bit iffy, so might be Sunday Would anybody like to hazard a guess at the number of birds in the race? To be honest it will be very much s guesstimate, as not everybody sends to these races as they don't like the 'all up together'. A SW wind is forecast changing to SE and ESE So my guess is 37,500 birds (it could be 10,000 either way!)
  16. We basketed today for Saturday for our first combine race of the season - Eastbourne, it will possibly be a NEHU race, but they have never gone to plan over the past few years! So could possibly be well over 30,000 birds (there were approx 35,000 birds at Chelmsford last week in the UNC - but 3 cuts) 275 miles to me - and I'm surprised (and slightly embarrassed) to find that we were the club's biggest sender For the record - the club has sent 312 (14 members) and that is the biggest send to a first combine race our club has had - in many years, about 1/3rd more than is usual
  17. It just so happens I bought a bag of corks to cover the screws coming through the roof and walls in the loft when dafta*se used ones that were too long! So do I Andy - it's going to take a while to get it right - it's a little chequer hen
  18. Good idea (I don't think my brain works anymore!)
  19. If you report the NEHU bird - you will get owners details by e-mail almost immediately http://www.nehu.co.uk/reportstraynehu.asp
  20. As is usual, the youngsters start their basket training on a Saturday morning, they go in the basket early on a Saturday morning weather permitting and sit in the basket until the early evening with the drinkers on. One of the youngsters has some terrible injuries from the wire on one of those blue drinkers. The wire got down the life ring, pierced the youngsters legs and at some point it has been thrashing about and the wing looks like it's been hawked, feathers missing etc. The leg was pouring with blood Perhaps we need to shorten the wires on the drinkers but wonder if that would be even more dangerous Has anybody else has any accidents or injuries with these blue drinkers?
  21. Mid Durham South Federation - can't find my 2017 handbook (Spennymoor, Newton Aycliffe areas) Report on the link and you will get an e-mail immediately to you e-mail address with the owners details http://www.nehu.co.uk/reportstraynehu.asp

  24. Redcar Central Flying Club - 16 members sent 388 birds to Chelmsford - 206 miles
  25. Up North Combine - Chelmsford Groups 1 & 4 up at 7.50am Groups 2 & 5 up at 8.10am Group 6 up at 8.30am SW wind
