  12. You need to worm your birds david I have also sent you a message
  13. Taken from your 1st photo (second lot with better lighting) there is also a good worm egg - shaped like a lemon in the first photo
  14. Much better David ;D Yes you've got worms ;D Sometimes cell chambers with starch can be confused with cocci (last photo) For this to be cocci - magnification would be 400x - do you see why magnification is important? If the magnification is only 40x - it couldn't be cocci - because the image is too big I usually look at samples at 100x and 400x - cos the books I have got show these magnifications
  15. you can use any cheap indigestion tablets - it doesn't have to be Rennies - look on the label - Tesco own indgestion tablets (about 99p) contain 500mg of calcium carbonate - I break these into quarters, i/4 morning and evening for a couple of days has worked fine for me ;D

  20. and theres plenty of others who write in the BHW who also come on this web site write a letter for the letters page - you can e-mail it to editor@britishhomingworld.co.uk they're short of letters - none published last week ;D If you have a printed recept for what you bought (or thought you were buying ) - and you paid by credit card - dispute it through your credit card provider - if there was a problem with the price they should not have sent anything out - and should have got in touch with you and told you - not sent half an order and said tough I think thats shocking - and doesn't sound legal - its like buying a 40 inch TV at a bargain price and they send you a 20 inch instead - you wouldn't put up with that would you?
  21. ;D ;D ;D ;D

  25. What is the magnification David? Is that exactly what you have seen - or is the image reduced in size from the original image ? If the image on here is the same as what you have seen and the magnification is 400 - then I wouldn't have thought it would be cocci - if the image is 100x - then it could be possible - do you have different coloured lights on your microscope - or a light filter? to reduce light getting through? you need to take the image with more light under the sample - you also need more light to look at the sample yourself I have about 8 different lighting variants on my microscope and tend to use the brightest - or with a slight blue tinge - also - how was the sample prepared - flotation - or just a mixed sample with water added (at a guess it looks like a flotation sample as you have no plant cells in the sample - which you WOULD see if you had just mixed the faeces with water - plant cells look like tyre treads)
