  10. Has for your request for imprint Harris Hawk>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>http://www.falconryforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=25846&highlight=imprint+harris+hawk
  11. Pete where in my post did i say a Harris hawk/ Red Tail should not be breed in seclusion... Ok i forgot to put NON indigenous i think u know wot i meant otherwise u would need a A10 article for either a Harris Hawk/ Red Tail.... Also a member on the international falconry forum and falconry questions and Falconry and hawking forum... Re imprinting Food imprinting is wot i was getting at reverting the raptor to scream every time it sees u Majority of Harris/ Red Tails are parent reared i agree....
  12. Another one for you to read Pete................................... http://www.falconryforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=20022&highlight=harris+hawk+screaming
  13. Maybe you should log onto the international falconry forum and see who is talking crap hey!!!!!! And for upsetting the apple cart i was just trying to give constructive advice What advice have u gave? http://www.falconryforum.co.uk/archive/index.php/t-23961.html
  14. Unfortunately he don't need a licence A10 article for this breed with it being indigenous to this country... But the one thing i am confident on that this Harris Hawk does scream call for food.... Now thunderbolt as told me he don't hunt with it. Just mention to him the screaming the hawk is doing your not happy with can settle it 2 ways he shuts up lets the guy get on with is pigeons or if not thunderbolt will be making a complaint to the environment regards the hawk screaming....
  15. Sounds a rite rod puller then m8, if he don't hunt with it then no doubt it screams like hell then as the hawk only knows of him as the food source imprinted its self on him...... You can still lob a few chicks over m8 if he is not about, once the Harris starts gaining weight it will then loose its bond with him as well wont happen overnight but like i said the couple of chicks or even road kills such as rabbits pheasants etc lob them over he will then realize he cant bow is bird on the lawn due to someone throwing it food :)
  16. Another thing is m8 i don't know u as a person don't know if your a quite guy or a guy not to be messed with don't know how you react to things..... If you really wanted to be a pain to him you could go out and buy some day old chicks and when the guys not about lob a day old chick over into is garden so the Harris can get it i presume the Harris hawk is bowed out on the lawn tethered.... By throwing the odd chick over now and then would put the hawk above the weight he keeps it at for manning purposes hunting etc etc.... Sure he would not bow Harris out on the lawn if its weight kept creeping up ;D ;D ;D ;D.........
  17. Don't let him bully you or predict to you what you should be doing my friend, If the loft is within your boundaries its got nothing to do with him even though u say its 5 ft from is house... Like i have said m8 Harris Hawks are notorious for screaming (food imprints) and if u mention to him your not happy with the screaming the hawk is making you will also make a official complaint to the environment office which in turn he will know they will make him get rid of the Harris hawk........ Mention it to him and see what feedback you get off him..... 98% sure he will lay off your case m8..........
  18. Sorry to read of the situation, is it a hawk or a falcon the next door neighbour has? If it is a falcon he will need what u call a A10 article issued by defra if he a not got one of theses he will be in for the high jump.... On the other hand if it is either a Harris Hawk or a Redtail he does not need a A 10 article due to the raptors being indigenous to this country... But on the other hand if is either of the above Hawk just mention to him that if he starts coming the *expletive removed* wipe he seems to be that you may also be getting in contact with the local council or environment office regards the screaming of the Hawk is making... Raptors especially Harris Hawks/Redtails if not reared correctly will imprint themselves on u therefore every time they see u they call for food as if they wud do with there parents Loud screaming noise....... I would say 90% of the above hawks Harris/Redtail do this not to being reared in a secluded aviary from being a eyeas.......... Good luck m8.....

    Blackpool 2009

Many yrs ago the Kirkpatrick had a decent reputation for long distance how do they compare to the other strains of distance pigeons now.....Only i wouldn't mind a few good Kirkpatricks in my stock loft, Would be mad not to have with my surname being Kirkpatrick ;) ;) ;)
  23. Sorry for the double post......
  24. Hi Albear at the moment m8 i don't have pigeons, just waiting on loft etc etc, but hopefully should be up and running this yr racing... I live more inner city than out in the sticks so only ever get the odd kestrel hovering over the back field, regards controlling raptors m8 i don't think you can if i had a solution no doubt i would be very rich m8.... Unfortunately a pigeon is food to certain raptors just like a cat another predator of the pigeon.....
  25. Hi Albear, at the moment i don't have pigeons just waiting on loft etc etc, but hopefully should be up and running this yr racing.. I am in Notts but more city than out in the sticks so don't really have problems with raptors......In the 13 yrs of me being at this abode i think i have seen the 1 sparrowhawk have a go at a blackbird.. Apart from the odd kestrel hovering over the fields at the bck of us nothing more than that really......
